Found some peyote buttons!

I was wondering what the average prices you guys have seen for buttons. The ones I found are 3cm diameter & they go for $40 a button. According to Google & this site, I would need 5-8ish to trip, which means $200+ I'd have to spend, which feels a little expensive. Thank you!

3cm is still a baby cactus. Wait 10 more years untill it reaches 5-7cm diameter, then it's mature. Then eat a dozen of them.
Stick with SanPedro if you are interested in mescaline.

Nope, mescaline is schedule 1 where I'm at (USA). I'll look into those others, which can be ordered online, right?

San Pedro's legal to possess in the US,but the chemical it contains(mescaline)is not. It's a grey area, but you won't get in trouble for possessing it.Just make sure you don't tell anyone who doesn't need to know that you're consuming it and you're good.

Don't buy peyote, please. The species is severely overharvested and it is considered an endangered species in the USA as a result. There are other mescaline-containing cacti such as San Pedro that you can use instead.

You're right. Peyote doesn't even grow in the USA naturally. Dried buttons bought on the internet might be harvested in it's natural environment, that's too bad.
Peyote is really endangerd, there's a reason why people are shot trying to harvest wild cacti .

Well said. Responsible tripping is tripping with harm minimisation as a priority -- and that includes harm to the planet, maaaan.
Seriously though, don't buy peyote. Buy one of the aforementioned cacti.

Thanks for the replies, I'll definitely go for San Pedro/bridgesii/or something else for mescaline, but I don't know when that will be.

You could get some cuttings of pedro online to eat, or buy some seeds to watch them grow over the years if that's your thing :P
If it is, come join us at the ethnobotanical garden!
You can actually sometimes find young pedros in home depot etc, or so I hear from my American friends. You'd need to know how to ID them though.
Another option would be buying synthetic mescaline from the darker parts of the internet, it's pretty expensive but I hear very good things about it.
