 360 kilos of cocaine washes up on the beach  1

LONDON, ENGLAND - Over $60 million dollars’ worth of cocaine in brightly colored holdalls has washed up on two beaches in eastern England, investigators said on Friday as they appealed for the public to keep a lookout for any more.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) said it was examining the discoveries near the resort of Great Yarmouth, some 140 miles northeast of London. The first holdalls were discovered on Thursday afternoon and more were found nearby on Friday.
In all, around 360 kg of cocaine has been washed ashore in what the NCA called “a major blow to the organized criminals involved.”
“We are now ... trying to establish how the bags ended up where they did,” said Matthew Rivers, from the NCA’s border investigation team. “It is extremely unlikely that this was their intended destination.”
Police Superintendent Dave Buckley said he believed all the packages had now been recovered but appealed for anyone finding more to contact police immediately.
“We will have extra officers in the area to monitor the situation,” he cautioned.

Lol, "a major blow to the organized criminals involved"? If they're even remotely organized, they probably lost the equivalent of some couch change. Shit, the bags probably got tossed off a boat after someone nuked some Indian food in the break room and made them smell too much like curry or something.
Also, if I ever found a duffel of cocaine washed up on the beach, I don't think I'd be running to the cops...

Yea no shit. Reminds me of the story my buddy always tells. He tells of the time in his life when he worked at the county maintenance facility,the task force would bring down there seized drugs and he ran the incinerator. One big cocaine bust had the cops dumping kilo after kilo of coke onto the conveyor belt which feeds the incinerator. He says there was a tear in the belt so coke kept pouring of the end piling up on the ground. Obviously when the cops left he scooped it all up. 2 days later he is so paranoid from doing caterpillar sized lines, he tries to sneak it back to work nearly getting caught. at least he believed so.

No seizure here has ever changed the street price in a measurable way and I'd presume it's the same over there...a package in the ocean, pun intended.

I doubt any seizure any place would really impact the price/flow that much, when things get shipped they just don't send a few tons in one way, they send a few tons one way, a few more in another, some more in another, so even if a few get intercepted, then there will be others that get through. You can only stretch your defenses to far before gaps form, the people that have been doing this for years know how to exploit those gaps to their benefit.
