New Question ^-^ (formerly What to expect?? PB's)
    #2409262 -

My buddies jars are on day 8 of incubation, and half of them (6) look like they are almost done...  They have a little bit to colonize on the bottom, but are all white around the sides.  The white is thickening up well and looks really good.  He went ahead and turned those jars upside down to hopefully speed things up a little, and He estimates that they will be ready to put in the fruiting chamber in a few days.
He wanted me to ask if anyone with experience with this strain (PB) could answer a question or three... Once he puts them in the fruiting chamber, how long does it generally take for pins to show up, and then how long would it be approximately until they are ready for first flush harvest?
I know that it all depends on conditions and stuff, but if under optimum conditions, and if everything goes well, when can he expect to have some lovely edibles?

Thanks  :heartpump:  :heartpump: :heartpump:

I've done some searching, and get the range of 2 days to 3 weeks for pinning, and 2 days to 2 weeks to fruit...  So that gives a total range of 4 days to 5 weeks...  Quite a wide time spectrum there...

So am I to assume that optimal conditions would really produce fruits in 4 days, or is this being overly optimistic?  I've read on some sites that PBs fruit rather quickly, but I've also read some posts that lead me to believe the opposite...

I guess this question is one that can't really be answered, or there is no answer to... so this leads me to a new question...

After visual/surface colonization is at 100%, how long should he wait to put them in the fruiting chamber?

Usually 3 days to a week for pinning.

Overly optimistic.

Give it a week for the center to finish.

Make your calculation with the longest range time...
I'm not sayin' that you won't get any fruit before 4 weeks,
instead I wish to you to get some wonderful Mushi as soon
as possible, but 4 days to get a full cake fruited and
ready to harvest sounds to me not so "easy".

Plus, if you'll be birthing your cakes as soon as they'll
be 100 % colonized, maybe the inside part of the cake
will still have space for the mycelium to expand, and in
that case you won't see no pinning very early

In my experience, I learned that Mushi request one thing:
patience

Good luck and enjoy the shroomery!
