boiled bags?

Hippie provided this great tek, and I specifically like the extra pic near the bottom that has the ghetto-style filter.

I was wondering if this tek could be done with a pot of boiling water rather than a pc. I understand that whole grain teks are always pc'd, is there maybe another way to do it? like a bag full of PF substrate boiled for an hour and a half? Or maybe something in the oven (like an autoclave)

Secondly, is there any place other than mycobags where I could get a bag that will stand up to this sort of abuse? Like i obviously can't use a shopping bag, but I don't wanna dole out the cash on a mycobag plus shipping, plus currency exchange.

A PC is a must for working with grains... theres a tek or 2 refering to microwave sterilization and tyndalization... I still recomend PCing

as for bags... I recomend buying them first from the suppliers, they are cheap, if you want to go the hard way and rig it up, HDPE plastics are what you want to look for... do a search for "Straw Logs" authord by RodgerRabit, it should have a few sources for the tubing

I suggest buying a PC... Look on ebay, very cheap (saw one for under $10); or save up $40 and go to wallmart...

These bags lasted an hour 45 min in a PC, no leaks...

If your like me, very paranoid, you will be happy to find out you can do all your shroom shopping locally and not have to order online... M
