Wasn't expecting it but it is firmly reattached. I didn't want it drying out before I could get tissue on plates.

Haha, yeah, Cloudy's done some really cool shit with Ganoderma. I am truly envious of his knowledge and experience with so many species!

Clever and strong, a sign of good genetics IMO. Suddenly not a fail, I would clone that. Cant say where from, maybe body tissue close to where it has re-attached.

The Ganoderma is freaking awesome!
The pearl oyster I have I ordered as a 5lb of sd spawn. For the most part it wasn't as impressive as I read it should have been. I happened to have 1 bag/jar i inoculated that played Superman so I kept spreading it out. I have some of it I'm cleaning up on agar now. That little block is the first I got of it to fruit so far.

Sitting on the back porch since august...several spent bags of this native Colorado oyster are fruiting in mid February.

Hehe, glad to see some new people enjoying the cool shit Cloudy has done with Ganoderma, I found it pretty awesome myself quite a while ago when he did it.

Image log of King oyster colonizing, 12 days total from WBS spawn. 1.22 liters (125g dry paper) worth of substrate, 80% water content.
The paper has been enriched with minerals and vitamins. Open air assembly, 16 cm height.

cool to see the gradient of colonization . how much WBS did you use for the 125g of paper? also how do you plan on fruiting? looking forward to the results

About 20-25g of spawn, fruiting strait out of the top.

I wont be getting 100% yield I doubt, only those with dialed areas with good intense light will get that. Only a hobbyist, although I could have cleaned and re-shelved my old indoor martha tent.
Still waiting for a bit more surface growth before I move it.

Are you going to use a casing layer? If not, I'd be worried about the substrate shrinking and getting only side/bottom pins.

Yes, a thin layer at 100% current surface colonization.

Sweet, I'm looking forward to pics. With substrates that small maybe next time you could try supplementing the shit out of them, should be able to get really good yields that way, maybe with 40% bran and wood pellets, I bet they'd do amazing.
