Great post. You keep saying monokarotic and dykarotic. Is there a reason you're not using the spelling monokaryotic and dykaryotic? Typos?

Because my phone keeps changing it. I kinda suck at spelling anyways. There are loads of typos I need to fix still.

I dig it. It wasn't an attempt to be pedantic, just checking. Great stuff, as always.

If I had only read this prior to all my mistakes, I would have saved so much time and money. Thank you for taking the time to write this out for us beginner growers! I'm sure this will help to eliminate future mistakes as well. I am printing this out as a reference. Wow. So appreciated!

What a great post! I never imagined so many stages were taking place. Old post or not, it needs a bump so other primordial nubs like me can get learnt.

Hey Pasty! I'm having trouble to avoid contams after 1st harvest. Reading your write-up I guess added coffee to the sub without proper pasteurization might have been an issue. Also, I'm also using coir/verm casing. Do you add lime and/or gypsum to the case? Thanks!!

Coffee in bulk is a mold magnet for sure. I would avoid. I don’t add anything to coir verm casing but if you wanted to slow the colonization of the casing you could lime buffer it. I wouldn’t bother myself.

Saving this amazing post.
If I have to prepare a coir layer I have to cook it as for the substrate?
