 MP3 Splitting

Ive got many huge MP3 files (mostly recorded from radios).
Well I'd like to cut out parts of the MP3 and save to a smaller MP3, so I can record CD/etc. I used SoundForge before, but its terrible with big files, and my expiration ran out. Then I tried Cool MP3 Splitter, which worked great, but it expired as well (and before you rich people jump on me, i cant afford to buy it).
Anyone have a key for this? Or know of any free utilities to cut MP3?

Uhm, you could use something like nero to create the cd by telling it the times you want the tracks split into then just re-rip to mp3. You COULD even do all of it with a virtual drive and not need to waste a cd.

For windoze try Goldwave. works nicely, i think the filesize limit is 4 terrabytes.

Ack, radio 2 mp3 2 cd? What rate are these mp3s at. I hate 128k.

I use Audacity, its also free
