Has the shroomery ever been hacked?

I've heard a rumor from an unreliable source that the shroomery stops working becuase the DEA is hacking into it and backing up confidential files. While I don't think this is true, I have been noticing the shroomery down more and more often. Can you tell us if it's updating software, or it's funding problems, or just too many connections?

Hahah, further from the truth.
The Shroomery has been down due to whats called a DOS attack. Its wasn't "hacked" it was simply getting "hits" very fast.
Picture going to a website and hitting your REFRESH button a thousand times a second. In a way, thats what a DOS attack is. It generates TOO much traffic nad the servers can't handle all of it.
This site wasn't hacked and no information was lost (or stolen).

Rumors are often false, as in this case. The server was under a denial of service attack. The attack was so intense it was knocking other customers located in the same building as the shroomery offline as well. To limit the harm to other customers, the shroomery's network provider redirected all traffic destined for the shroomery to a virtual blackhole.

According to the folks who distribute this site used software there's been no security hacks, so what Lana is saying is right. The shroomery btw is running on the latest version. Here's an older thread, dunno if the discussion is on an older UBB? http://www.threadsdev.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=chat&Number=92025 Go search there for more info. They must know what they're doing, admin asks them questions...along with no end of other forum admins the net over. At least here they don't tool you with the miserable hack like they do at Overgrow (page2). http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49810

So many people fear it is the American Govt... hehehe. I think it is somebody with a grudge against the Shroomery. Someone who was banned, or someone who is offended by the peaceful discussion of shrooms. Certainly, there are people out there who can, and would attack the Shroomery... I bet they are or once were members of this community. Most domestic attacks, abuse, molestation, kidnappings, murders ... happen because one friend/family member attacks another friend/family member. The people you are closest to are the ones who hurt you the most. As for the attacks on The Shroomery, I bet it is someone who was once a member.

If you want to find the culperit. Look for someone who has computer smarts and a grudge to back it up. Someone who was banned for something. Maybe they were ex-communicated from shroomery. I think its probably some rip-off artist who got called on his shit and has a axe to grind. I have my own guesses.
