Burnin' by the Wailers is great, I'm listening to it right now. Reggae is great for political music in general, I've also been listening to Mass Manipulation by Steel Pulse lately. I really appreciate reggae because the anti-colonial message comes from a place of experience and cultural memory on the part of the artists, it isn't just for show like a lot of punk bands. I'm not ragging on punk, I was big into the Dead Kennedys and other punk bands in high school and still listen to a bit of it. Needless to say, I love the Police as someone who likes reggae and punk, but their music isn't political and doesn't belong in this thread.

There really is nothing nice about USA
You go to the hospital you have to pay
The dollar is the language that they all speak
they don't really bother about the radiation leak

FUCK THE USA

They keep their secrets undercover
the rich don't bother about those that suffer
this ain't the land of milk and honey
cause all they want is money money money

FUCK THE USA

Nuclear bombs are fuck all new
you'd better start running when they drop on you
run into a shelter, play hide and seek
cause when you die your body reeks

FUCK THE USA

There really is nothing nice about USA
You go to the hospital you have to pay
The dollar is the language that they all speak
they don't really bother about the radiation leak

FUCK THE USA

Protests took place across Australia and the world on this date.
In Melbourne the police wanted and got violence.

John Farnham is better than all the stupid people that are so stupid (that's all those pro-vaxers) that they are absolutely unable to come up with a couple of songs for a political music thread.
I mean over the last several pages here I've posted 90% of the political music.
Fucking hopeless as far as music is concerned. Or anything else for that matter.
So politically aware. Ha Ha. :evilpuke:

Act ually I've never been a fan of John Farnam which one could easily guess from my taste in music posted earlier. And until you pointed it out I had no idea the song was by him.
Anyway anyone who isn't stupid understands that those people were not marching to any Australian musician but the song was merely overlain on some footage.

Yeah and it sucks.

Also, that crowd of 500 are so stupid, so misguided, so off the target they even booed John Setka!

The leader of the most militant trade union in Australia, former member of the de-registered BLF, expelled from the Labor Party, and they took out their anti vax bullshit craziness oh him! What a bunch of Losers with a capital L.

I was a paid member of the ETU for over 20 years and it's MY FUCKING RIGHT to call out fuckwit behaviour if I see it and I will.

I can't believe I'm on the same side as John Setka here but I am.

This belongs in the covid thread with all the other examples of idiots off the rails  and your stupid song belongs in you grandmothers record collection alongside Bing Crosby.

After some searching I figured out what the song title was.
The songs pretty catchy and since John Farnham has been such a great hit in this thread I figured that I'd share the lyrics so peeps can sing along.

John Farnham - You're the Voice Lyrics

We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we want to write
We gotta make ends meet, before we get much older

We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?

You're the voice, try and understand it
Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah

This time, we know we all can stand together
With the power to be powerful
Believing we can make it better

Ooh, we're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son, oh
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?

You're the voice, try and understand it
Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah

Ooh, we're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?

You're the voice, try and understand it
Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah

Repeat until end
