Lighting for New Fruiting Area Being Built
    #24057722 - 02/01/17 04:20 PM (6 years, 11 months ago)

I am currently building a fruiting area for gourmet mushrooms (from scratch) that is 12' x 14'. I live in South Texas where we get a lot of sunlight.

I am wondering if it would be better to build windows into the structure and utilize indirect sunlight, or if I should just go ahead and use artificial lighting.

I've done a good amount of research and have not come to a suitable conclusion either way yet.

I would put windows in. If you want to switch to artificial lighting you can just cover them up.

Why not both?

Windows on one side and mounts for artfical lights on the other ends that dont have windows. Most greenhouse are built this way so u can switch back and forth.
