Y'know, stretching basically does the same thing that a chiro will do for you, if you do the right stretches. Look up some yoga postures, because the whole point of yoga is to lengthen and strengthen the spine. In order to lengthen it, the alignment has to be readjusted, which is the first phase of some of the changes that take place from doing daily stretches and exercise.
My only issue with chiropractors is that they're doing the work for us. In some cases, sure, they might be the best option, but you can't just have a perfectly aligned spine if the rest of your muscular tissue is still functioning in the same habitual patterns which brought it out of alignment in the first place. You'll be fine after a session, and then gradually go back to the way you were, so it's just a temporary fix. The important thing to do is a holistic realignment of your body, through proper stretching and exercise, only using a chiropractor for things you just can't seem to tackle on your own.

Good points and good advice.

Went to a chiropractor gu once, he kept making jokes that I had to fake laugh at, like every fuckin 2 minutes he'd say something that warrented laughter. What is it with these jokester chiropractors and dentists that feel the need to try make me laugh every 10 seconds?
Anyway my back is shitty from an injury, my back muscles are assymetrical and he said my back was "good" and he cracked some wacky bones in my back and did a few things here n there, didn't really improve my back noticeably

I was under the impression that the vast majority of their patients had some kind of insurance to cover the cost of treatment, and if the patients had to pay out of their own pocket, many would not think the treatment was worth the cost. I finally tried a chiropractor for low back pain, and I thought the the setup was bogus and the doc was just trying to figure out how to get as much money as he could. He took expensive x-rays and when he couldn't find anything out of line, he decided that my pelvis was at the wrong angle to my spine. I believe this only reflected the way I was standing when x-rayed, and I could have easily shifted my weight more to the other foot and leveled my pelvis. I no longer get lower back pain like I used to because I figured out what kind of activities triggered it and now I avoid them.

go in, get your back cracked but dont listen to any shit about holistic healing, or other nutter medical advice that many are apt to dispense. chiropractic isnt medicine, it's not going to heal you and while it may hurt for a few days afterward, it can help to ease some of the back pain you feel. stretching and exercise will actually benefit you a lot more

Chiros good, but I wanna do some acupuncture sometime, I have heard interesting things. I used to go to the chiro when I was young, I got hit really hard once playing football and knocked my hips out of place, so had to go get them put back right at the chiro, then went once a month for a while, then quit going, was nice though, but seemed to only work well if I continued to go on the regular.

it's all quackery, chiropractic has minimal if any benefit, acupuncture is just complete garbage unless you're a hypochondriac in which case it's fucking magic

you dont need chiropractors for your back pain, just eat some sugar pills because they're 99% effective, maybe cure your cancer with soursop because it's 10,000 times more effective than chemotherapy

I've been on bed rest for 5 weeks now. My lower back is hurt bad. Kept having muscle spasms. Dr gave me pain pills and muscle relaxers. Said it was just pulled muscles but it hasn't helped.
Went to the chiropractor yesterday. He knew exactly what was wrong with me. My si joints in my lower back are out of line. He described all my symptoms without me even having to tell him. I'm only 34 and I lift. Health is good. He said he has fixed people with my issue before and should be done in 5 treatments.
He adjusted me yesterday. Hurt like a bitch. But I have confidence in the process. He knew what he was talking about for sure. I see him again tomorrow. I'll let u know if he actually does fix this like he says.
BTW. I've had X-ray's and Mri. They don't show any problems. So chiropractor could be a miracle for me

Alright. I'm willing to accept science on this one.
If accupuncture is in fact a placebo effect, I can attest that it is an extremely believable illusion of wellness.

Total skeptic here. Went to a really good chiro and he told me what was wrong with me from looking at me. I was complaining about back problems he said its my shoulder.
Popped my shoulder and not its working much better and my lower back problems have stopped.
