Time to move on
    #2404084 - 03/04/04 09:20 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

My cat only has experience doing cakes. Right now my cat has 2 jars growing, around 30 percent done. I want to move on to casings because I want to get more out of my jars. I am using Equador strain. I have a rubbermaid container that is probably a good size to make a casing. I just wanted to know what tek you guys would reccomend for my experience and strain. Thanks, peace.

From the subject, I thought you were throwing in the towel. Glad you aren't.

Anyway, go for some grains since you already have the PF tek down. Your choice, but I do recommend corn. Easy to work with and sustains nice fruits. The Ecuadors would love it.

:mushroom2:

Why did you post this in "logs n pics"?

Didn't mean to post it here whoops. Anyways, so corn you say is good? I don't have any knowledge of doing casings, do you have any links to teks? Thanks, peace.

Good popcorn writeup

Good casing tutorial

Casing Mix 101

All top notch threads.

Remember there is elbow room in all of these teks, so do whatever works for you. For instance, I wouldn't PC my casing mixture. Never had a need to.

Good luck!

Honestly, the best way to go is to just buy some High Mountain Compost and spawn your cakes into that. Then case it with 50 50 +. I know a lot of people think it is a great expense, but if you don't want to deal with ( "I have had my first 3 batches of bulk runs contaminate" ) and just want to get on with it, just spend the $30 and watch what a real bulk run will do!!

Thanks for the help guys. Very good links Daywalker. I read them over and I definitely have a better understanding of what makes up a casing. It would be great to have someone to go to for help as I go through the steps, I hope you don't mind if I PM you sometime Daywalker, and you too puggymalone. Peace guys.
