First Sclerotia trip

Hey all... So I received my little package of Tamp Scleorita from a vendor here on the board that was a little over 15 grams. Since it was my first time I decided to only have 10grams.

When I first opened the bag it smelled a bit sour and not like mushrooms at all. I jump right in and eat the 10g and it had this sour after taste as well. I thought it probably just tastes that way but now that I think about it that does not seem right. It did take me a couple weeks to receive them from overseas.

Anyway, 10g was too little and all I got were some open eyes visuals (brighter colors) but little to nothing else. I should have eaten all 15g bc the  left over went even more rancid a couple days later even though they were in the fridge in a sealed baggy.

Anybody have any ideas what all that was about?

Pretty sure they package them at that dosage because that's the effective amount to take for a trip.

When I eat my own sclerotia I prefer eating 20-25g fresh. Even for first timers.

You may want to research the lemon Tek, it will make the peak slightly more intense and the come up slightly quicker.

The sour, unpleasant earthy taste is normal, the texture should be something like eating a slightly damp walnut.

Sclerotia don't keep very well out of a refrigerator (being sealed in a bag helps to keep them fresh but can also make them "sweat" a little bit - temperature changes don't help). They can look quite weird with a mottled brownish or greenish appearance, sometimes there can be a little bit of mycelium growth on them (small white patches) which is OK, but I wouldn't eat them if they are rotten (squishy / smell awful) or fluffy (fluffy mould growing on them which can make you puke).

Your's sound pretty normal, not too bad considering the transit time, I think the leftovers in the fridge had already deteriorated a bit during transit and then the temperature change back into a fridge probably made them sweat and go mushy from condensation inside the bag.

As for the minor visuals, potency varies; the standard comparison to shrooms would say that 10g sclerotia = 2g cubes, but unless you are eating fairly potent sclerotia a 10g dose is more likely to be equivalent to 1.5g cubes or a bit less, i.e a cautious first-timer kind of dose.

You can buy varieties of sclerotia which are marketed as being more potent (they are left to mature for longer before harvesting, ignore the marketing bullshit about fictitious new species) but even so it would be rare to get a full-blown trip off 10g.

filthyknees 20-25g dose range sounds more realistic for most sclerotia.
