I've read several blurbs about field capacity and watched RR's video demonstration... everything I've seen has said it can be anywhere from a very short trickle with drops to a a very short stream

I misted these ones for their photoshoot under a bright light with the lid off before I put them back on a shelf.
The cased ones are going faster but the uncased ones seem like they will have a very uniform pinset

I feel like it is better to be on the dryer side vs over wet. I have had some bad issues being to wet, but not to dry. You can fix dry with misting. Over wet can cause some contamination issues.

Blessed shoebox harvest, 4 pints of spawn to a half brick of coir, straight coir, multi spore, open air fruited.

 Total yield: 1052.7 wet
5-6 pairs of twins in the whole tub and 1 double cap single stem, got lost in the harvest, will post if I find it again.

180 g wet side shroom yield.

Bravo! That's fucking outstanding work. You pulled more out of a shoebox then most people pull out of a 66qt mono.

Thanks, just tells me that Mother Nature does it right and cubes need to breathe, it started in a stuffy closet than 4 days in I took off the lid altogether and set it on a dresser in my living room.
3 jars slightly bacterial and 4th one was 90% colonized and more bacterial, I tried to dig out all the mycelium but I accidentally dumped all the grain that wasn't colonized in too. Honestly expected contam but it was a pleasant surprise, took about 2.5 weeks to fruit from the day I took it out of the closet.

So you left it in open air since before pinning? Were you misting regularly?

Yep I was misting just enough to stay hydrated, it was a bit dry in my house tho so it required misting after about 3 days of being without a lid but it was fairly light until about a week and a half of taking the lid off, after that it needed about 3-4 heavy mistings a day.

Just more proof that evaporation is a HUGE pinning trigger.

Yea for sure, I'm gonna do 2 more tubs open air, and 2 with a lid to compare, only issue is I can see someone with less time on there hands struggling to keep the sub hydrated open air, I do work 9-5 tho so it's at least possible.

Surface conditions is what does it more than genetics. I did a nice pin set with these shitty genetics.

Yea I'm guessing it was more surface conditions, the genetics were probably alright, no isolation spore syringe to grain. The variety is Brazilian but I made all of my tubs so far from a single syringe and the other grows weren't anything special. I'm convinced it's mostly a result of the open air fruiting. I mean the jars were all slightly contaminated with bacteria and 1 only got to 90%, the bacterial grain that was uncolonozrd got mixed with all the okay spawn. Really not optimal starting conditions, part of me thinks it's luck and good conditions, I didn't have much hope for this tub since uncolonized grain got mixed in.
