I just want to bring up one more point. This hobby generates waste one way or another. Just look at California and that drought they had. Some people take fresh, clean water for granted. Wasting water is a waste. I like to garden and use my spent substrates for fertilizer. Most people, I'm sure, just waste spent substrates by throwing them away. Synthetic fertilizers are bad for pollution.

That’s my thought process on it too. The growers here who go through hundreds of pounds of grains contribute just as much waste with the huge empty wholesale grain bags. Not to mention wrappers from syringes, agar packets, agar bottles, cardboard cases from jars, polyfill wrappers, micropore wrappers, empty cans of butane, parafilm and saran wrap, the list goes on and fuckin on
So when people come in being righteous about waste in this hobby I just
I get that the first start is trying to not be part of the problem as much as possible but that’s being idealistic and well that’s just not me

ive seen lots of double/conjoined and upside down fruits but thats a new one for me with the levitating cap
edit: i always feel bad about how much waste i produce. tin foil especially. i hate throwing subs in the trash but its hard living in a city and not having a car. ive been using liners just for the sake of easy cleaning but im gonna try not using them and see how it suites me.

Another stupid question but I just started my penis envy 6 shoe boxes the other night.
I just have them sitting on top of a shelf in my closet were my shotgun fruiting chamber is. Should they be in the dark the whole time while colonizing? and surely I don't need to mist anything until I case it right I read a post 10 pages back that was confusing. Man these shoeboxes are easy as fuck though one quart of spawn 2 quarts cvg and if one gets fucked you don't lose an 80 Qt mono. I just bought like 3 dozen more of them today.

Nah, it won't. I've never seen cvg colonize like that. I am willing to bet the cvg tub pins first though.

All 10 pe6 shoeboxes have pinning. The cased ones pinned first but the pinset seems less even. The mixed and uncased are all knots/pins so a little slower but the pinset seems way more even.
We'll see as they mature

Now if they look thirsty ill give em water while they're flushing
I've been thinking about this and considering trying a no-mist approach and see how it goes. When you water the fruiting tubs, do you mist or pour water in and drain?
Also, how is your field capacity on your sub? Few drops, small trickle, or large trickle?
