I see rhizo growth like that fairly regularly if I case, or if its not mixed well... basically whenever there are areas with lots of coir

Interesting. I get rhizo growth, just when it is that intense it is running from contamination. Also I intend no offense, not to start anything, but you do put spores straight to grains and yours is probably not 100% clean. Now that doesn't mean you can not produce a good amount of shrooms from a bacterial sub, as I have done the spore to grain and it was bacterial but produced nicely.

Just curious, why the garbage bag in your shoebox?

I had been thinking about using the small garbage bag for ease of cleanup.

I have not had much of that issue in shoeboxes. I got good rocking 1st flushes that shrunk it so much that side pins on the second flush were easy to harvest. I am still hunting a one and done clone culture.

bodh, since you mentioned a space heater, just wondering what temp you keep your area at? I know the ranges of ideal temps and effects of colder temps causing slower growth with fatter fruits and all that. Just wondering what you find to work best

Its on a thermostat. Kicks on when the temp hits 65 stops when it gets to 72. Usually gets to 74ish with carry over heat.

I find it doesn't run so much set up like that

What do you mean by a one and done culture - this is a MS grow for me but i was AMAZED by how fast this went.

First grow had to wait 16 days for a tiny sign of growth in the jar n waited like 8 weeks for the jars to colonize. Mix it w coir n waited 10 days and thwn another two weeks to get my first pin so like 4 months.

W this grow in 3 days i saw more growth than 15 days on the first. Only took 4 weeks to colonoze the jars. Just popped the lid off 11 days after mixing it in w the substrate and lo and behold. PINS EVERYWHERE.

Are you using 8 gallon bags for the liner? That is what I am using and they fit perfectly.

A one and done culture would be a clone that pushes all it has the 1st flush, close to or at 200% Biological efficiency for cubes.

Oh. Okay. I was wrong. They are 4 gallon bags. They fit very nicely and you don't have to cut them.
