Nice bro.
So, I posted a question asking about my sub the other day and basically was told it looked ok.
I was tripping on L at the time and thought I was paranoid
But today I am sober and still think it might look funny
Is it normal for uncolonized portions of sub to get this kind of yellowish color to it...? Worried its a contam. Don't notice a smell although it is POSSIBLE it had a sweet smell. Not sure. Kind of like jars that are no good and don't smell horribly bad but kind of sweet. But I could be paranoid, it also has a nice mushroom smell
It doesn't show up as good in pics, >.< and my bad for posting and asking about the same sub twice, but in your guys opinion, does this sub look normal...?
I have 4 shoebox's and each one has this going on. The uncolonized portion of the sub is kind of turning this yellowish tint. I think I flipped the lid and started misting too soon maybe
Thanks guys...
This is the portion I am a little worried about.

This is the other half, the half that looks healthier and cleaner, no yellow tinting, as well as the whole shoebox.

I transferred them into an unBODded 55qt mono and kept the lid upside down the entire time. I misted and fanned as needed. I didn't really keep track of how often or what but again, as needed

My little matryoshka shoebox has a nice pinset
I normally have extra grains after a g2g cause my sab is a little too small for me to get em all out, and it seems like they like being straight cased with coir more than being straight cased with verm.
I couldn't find mini rounds when I first started so I used these slightly bigger pp5 glad containers for agar for awhile. Now I only use em for this and for holding dip and salsa for my chips

No holes Plenty of FAE with the lid on Plenty of FAE when dub tubbed
And you can always choose to crack the lids if you need more FAE
Mist as needed

crack the lids, or flip them. thats FAE. fresh air isnt really exchanged. i hate the term. it indicates fanning
fresh air EXPOSURE.
you 'expose' the substrate to air. thats better. much better.. i feel better dont you? anyway when you expose it to air, the surface starts to evaporate which starts the whole pinning cycle. you mist to maintain a nice level of moisture to replenish what evaporates. how much depends on ambient conditions.

True, IME, even with the lid on there is quite a bit of fresh air exposure

WBS is a good start, straight millet is good, as is Milo.
Have you picked out a prep method? Wanna share your game plan so we can crucify you for making rookie assumptions?
Make sure you get clear tubs
