Once you mix the shoebox and place them in the larger monotub, do you leave the shoebox without a lid and just put the lid on the monotub they are in instead?

Dude..... I read 45 pages of your shoebox tek. Before I realized it was over 700 pages long. Fuck a duck... Seven...hundred... (Is it still ok to be sexually aggressive toward waterfowl if I don't mention theys/thems/themmers gender or call then a fatty?) Goddamn you deserve a medal for the years of contributeiness. (Yes..... It's a word, let's move on)
Anyway... To the point. Care to save my squinty eyes and give me the current best info?
Drier climate.. AZ... 6 qt shoebox needs 2 quarts wbs spawn to 2 qts pcvg, right? Pack gently...flatten...add lid... Wait til it pins, dub tub, mist when necessary, Harvest, dunk cake, repeat?
Am I close?
Honestly trying to glean all the knowledge I can and not get roasted too bad.....

mushy has lots of medals. including but no limited to tc tag which seems a small gesture considering literally everyone uses this tek all over the world now.
i honestly just use straigjt coir. am i once again behind the times? things shift so rapidly in this hobby. my friends think im a "tc" and i always laugh.

Thanks. And Hats off to the guy, I just Can't get through 700 pages on this tiny screen. I just wasn't sure if the initial few pages ended up being the preferred method after everybody attempted it and then chimed in with their experience. (Clearly there's a wealth of experience here) I just wondered if it had changed and with desperately love a definitive up-to-date instruction if anything on the recipe had changed

All you need is cv and you don't need to pasteurize, assuming that's what the 'p' means. Mush's tek is obviously time-tested and will treat you right, but if you're interested in exploring a more recent discussion take a look at this thread from P9 that works for shoeboxes or mono's:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27426583
Key differences relative to your list:
1. Much leaner spawn ratio -- up to 1 myco quart spawn to 6 quarts substrate (1:6). I've seen that other TC's use anywhere between 1:2 and 1:4. 1:1 leads to faster colonization but limits the size of your water reservoir, and P9 makes a good argument about why more water is better (without having to go beyond field capacity).
2. Between the substrate and top layer, fill the shoebox to the brim.
3. Substrate is mixed and then compressed. Then approx. 1 inch top layer of CV is added and also compressed.
4. The link has a good video on a bucket tek for substrate. P9 uses CV. Common wisdom around here is that gypsum is unnecessary.
That thread has helped me a lot, particularly the perspective that grain provides all the necessary nutrients and the sub is mainly just a water reservoir. The idea is that starting with more water helps maintain proper surface conditions and leads to better fruiting. This seems particularly appropriate for your dry conditions.
His caveat is that you need very clean spawn. 1:1 would be better if you suspect any contams due to faster colonization.
