Yeah if conditions demand you to do something then you should adjust so the mushrooms get what they need, it is definitely possible to fruit shoeboxes without adjusting anything

I usually just dub tub once the mushrooms are getting close to the lid or if i feel they need more air

Really excited about the pin set in this Albino Teacher box after 14 days.
I haven’t cloned a cluster before but this section has a lot of great candidates. We’ll see in the next few days what they pop up to be.

LGT was a variety that gave me huge headaches and almost never fruited, but when it did it made small quantities of huge, powerfully strong dicks

Post your final fruits, and be sure to follow up on your intent to clone!

will do! Interesting you had that experience, the growth these have on agar has been slow and steady like I've seen in PE myc. Maybe an indicator of the potency.

Thanks for the more accurate variety name

Lgt??

Are you sure?

That doesn’t make dicks and has a rep for being below average potency.

I meant dicks as in fruits fam, although I will attest to the potency, I had friends try em that said the same. This was my first year of practicing cult.

Hey Aka, they were displayed as "Albino Teachers" I just wasn't sure if LGT or the labeled AT is more accurate.
This is my first run using this print, so may take a few generations to narrow it down to a purer white fruit.

The penis varieties are universally known as 'dicks'. Its not interchangeable with whatever fruits. Only teh penis.

I've seen other varieties called dicks: even had someone argue the contrary that "all mushrooms look like penises"

I don't disagree, but some are more penises than others

I think for the sake of clarity, PE varieties should be the only one's referred to as such, my point was only that both views exist and are prevalent

I'm growing a lot of APEU lately: but they look like luecistic classics, not much penis envy phenotype to them unless humidity is through the roof(ie side fruit on a bottom watered sub)

Hey! I have a question regarding 'bigger' shoeboxes.

I have some 12qt tubs. Can I still just let them sit with lid on until introducing fruiting conditions  and then simply crack the lid? Or do these bigger tubs require some sort of additional FAE through holes?

Also, my lids are transparent. Is this a problem that they will get some indirect light before I introduce light during fruiting conditions?

Thanks a lot guys!

They should work fine.  The light is good and won't mess anything up.

Yeah you’ll be fine. I’ve forgotten shoeboxes and left the lid on with them under a chair barely getting light and they were fine.

Bigger ones will have plenty of air too.

Underbeds are like four shoeboxes fused together and they work the same.

Light preferences are variety specific... some do great in ambient or no lighting, others get extremely thin and tall and have small caps as a result

So I've retired my first shoebox and I'd say it's been a great success. 64g cracker dry from 1qt spawn. That'll keep me travelling for a good while.

Made 4 shoeboxes around 2 days ago from brown rice and fuckin' quinoa spawn that looked reasonably clean. Mostly RW and PESA varieties. Checked some samples of grain under the scope for mites first.
This is my first run this year so far, wish me luck!
I'll post pictures when something happens.
