Do you have the lid on?? It should stay wet inside if it is, I have very low rh and also ran a space heater and they were too wet sometimes from the temperature difference causing condensation drips.

There’s no problem with misting it just don’t overdo it.

If it’s dry even with the lid on the coir probably needs more water when you first make it.

Quick question as i couldn't find the answer anywhere.
If i am grating my BRF cakes and adding to CVG substrate should i soak the BRF cakes for 24 hours before grating (like you do before rolling them in verm for a standard PF tek) or do they not need soaked?
Thanks in advance.

No, only a dunk is necessary if you're keeping as a cake.

Thanks very much for the reply - when there is nearly 700 pages to a thread sometimes finding the answer you need can be quite challenging!!

There’s a “search this thread” button at the bottom of the page for future reference.

sometimes I will reread the entire thread several times. I usually pick up on info I wasn't paying attention to, or learn little nuggets of info. After you read it several times, things pop out at you, maybe because your not preoccupied with a question in mind

Spawned both of these 5-6 days ago with 3 brf cakes each. One has a casing, the other does not. How are they looking so far? I have just left the lid on unlatched in my closet with 12/12 light cycle. When should I mist and or fan if at all? And how long until I begin to see fruits? Thank you!

Awesome thank you. I decided to flip the lid for more FAE. There is still condensation on the sides and some small pools of water that drained down the sides and are sitting on top of the substrate in a few spots, should I mist so that there are droplets over the whole surface?

I wouldn't say droplets, a glistening mist. Take a napkin and soak up the little puddles and mist. Up and let it fall.

If its puddling its too wet

Your tubs looked pretty wet to me

If you slightly increase the fae from where it was you should be fine. Just make small changes then give time to observe so you dont over compensate conditions

Update on my current shoeboxes. Spawned 7-8 days ago. I fixed my misting issue, I was spraying directly on the tub instead of spraying up and letting the mist fall. I have white dots forming all over which I assume to be hyphal knots. Should I be increasing FAE or anything at this point? I currently have both sitting at 12/12 light, about 75ish degrees, and have the lid on unlatched. Very excited for next week or so to see if I did everything correctly!

Edit: I noticed my images aren't as high quality as before I upload, anyway to fix this? The image is 3024x4032, but the quality is very bad when trying to zoom in and see.

They look on track, I wouldn’t increase air unless you can keep a real close eye on them.

Yeah i would leave it and wait to increase air, unless it is staying too wet for some reason

Awesome, I will leave them and check on them 2-3 times a day, to be sure the surface conditions are being met. So I should be fine to complete the whole grow through harvest with these conditions  (lid on, 12/12, slight mist as needed)? Or is there at anytime that I SHOULD change anything to increase the chance of fruits or of more fruits? Thanks everyone for all the help! This forum is really making this journey fun, exciting, and not too complicated.

I just grew my first APEs in shoeboxes and I'm SO GLAD I didn't try to but them in any of the bigger bins.

I can't believe how less dense and more squishy they are vs. GTs. Unreal. They are super-cool!!
