Shit necessary items are not cheap here. Wages have been kept down for far to long while cost of living has skyrocketed. Funny how shit we don't need is affordable, but stuff like food will bankrupt you.

I did the other day, in a small ice chest, quarter brick of coir, and a little over a quart of boiling water. There's probably a better way though.

It is if you weigh your coir instead of just relying on the weight listed on the package. Bod mentioned
"it's a VERY GOOD idea to weigh them first to make sure they're actually 650g. these things are made with little to no quality control so..."
Break off a piece and throw it on the scale to determine how much you need for the number of quart jars of spawn you're planning on using

Just spawned 2qts of Amazon to cvg this morning. I've never used a casing layer before so I saved some and added about a 1/4" casing layer. Will update with pics once things start happening

Dude I did the exact same thing a few days ago! Gonna see how it goes. Also how long do you guys usually wait to put into fruiting conditions? I made two boxes on the 20th of August. So that's like 13 days ago. Munchauzen had said they get enough fae with the lid on, so I was gonna wait to mist till I can see pins. I kinda have a problem with over-misting, so I've been trying to have more patience with everything lately. My last tub I put into fruiting conditions at exactly 10 days, wich I think was too early, I over misted, and got straight side pins. These shoe boxes are just right up my alley. So I went ahead and bought 10 more on clearance Thanks mushboy!!!

I've had to mist the fuck out of a few of mine, I think I'm making my cvg on the low side of field capacity

I had to mist quite a bit. The first shoebox I did, I didn't mist. I got side pins and bottom pins shitty. So I watched the next one more. Lightly misted when the coir got lighter. As it colonized I misted so that there were moisture beads on surface.

Now I fruit the shoeboxes in larger monos cause I dont have to mist hardly at all lol

that means you need to mist more for a thick pinset
