Just an update. I ate 3.5gs of those mushrooms that I had that were all splitting and peeling. I tripped way harder than I have from my 4g trip a few weeks back. I didn't die so I guess they are safe to consume.

I keep this unzipped from the time Im home from work until the next morning, Ive said my reasoning was just to house my shoeboxes, but do I need to add some sort of humidifier in there as well? The tubs seem to dry out on top pretty quick
There is a fan wired to a restrictor in there too that is just barely moving to keep the air from settling .

Id get rid of the fan and see if it's necessary before I misted a bunch to compensate for it...

I added it to try and fix the lack of evaporation and I was starting to get some fuzzy creeping up the shrooms

putting those totes in a partially closed space will hinder conditions. adding a fan to solve problems is not how you do things. shoeboxes are supposed to be simple as fuck.
ditch the tent and fan.

Yeah I understand where you're coming from, I have to work within my means tho, my household is aware and okay with the goings on, but its expected to be kept semi discreet. So ditching the enclosure is solid advice, can you help point me in a direction to better manipulate conditions, or will this flat out never be able to operate on a moderate level?
Mushboy, would you say this can be adapted to run like a GH?

Could someone comment on experiences with more exotic/uncommon species in shoeboxes especially ones which don't always fruit so spontaneously? And on putting the shoebox indoors vs outdoors and interactions with e.g. bacteria that may be needed to help induce fruiting?
(Am interested in advantages and disadvantages and how to make best use of the shoebox method. I myself have ovoids and subs in shoeboxes but they didn't fruit this autumn, it got cold quickly and seemed like a really short autumn here..)
You ever add a special casing of like detritus / leaves and debris etc, especially for humicolous species or semi-..?

He's talking about exotics and woodlovers. Bacteria is needed for certain species.
