Did you tape it up? Otherwise, the lid allows adequate FAE for "fruiting conditions "

Monos are deeper and need flipped ... anything with walls less than 4-6" higher than the sub probably not an issue

When I first got into shoeboxes I flipped my lids. If your saturation levels are good (i.e. at field capacity) then flipping your lids actually creates problems and will dry out your sub too much. They're fine if they're right side up, just unlatched, hell even latched they still grow just fine. Do not flip shoebox lids unless your shit is super over-saturated.

All depends on the brand of shoebox too. Not all shoeboxes are created equal. Lol I got 2 shitty ones at first and the lids didn't even snap.

I harvested a box the other day that had the lid snapped in place because I was waiting for the pins to get a little bigger, but the box BLEW UP while I was out of my house for about 36 hours. Basically all that happened was the stipe by the cap started to get wiggly and bent, but no problems at all. I wish I'd taken a picture of it...

Oh, also, flipping your lid is a great way to create side/bottom pins, just don't do it.

For the amount of crappy pictures I take of mushrooms (you should see my phone camera reel!) you'd have thought I'd have taken pictures of it!

I like to unsnap the lids in this situation. The mush will just push it up. I've done it unintentionally many times.

Cool guys! Lol... That 15qt probably still gets plenty of air closed... sub is fairly thin, will be difficult to keep hydrated after first flush

Very small, sharp caps on these pins.
What might it mean about my conditions?
