we??

people do it because they are noobs.
i dont care if you can manage to save a tub or not. once you see the trich its already to late. look at diagrams of how trich grows up in and around the healthy myc. its grows like a parasitic vine.
im not a tc but its my thread so thats what i decree

So the first 2 shoeboxes i ever made id consider a simi success getting 200grams wet from onebut only 98 grams wet on the second one. Not great but im happy cause i got spore prints and started 20 clones from those grows so to me its a win. But.. This box was spawned 2 days after the First 2 and its looking matted af. Should i do anything or just keep going as planed?

I shouldn't have said we. Cuz I just leave that shit there and dump it after harvest
Trich is a bitch but salting/cutting does nothing.

ive certainly seen people save tubs from trash by cutting/salting and getting results. i guess its a personal decision
one that id never make.

Can't argue with that.
I am a salter, but only when I have mushrooms and don't want to toss the tub right away. I *think* it helps slow spreading spores, but I still remove the tub from my grow area and toss immediately after harvest. There's definitely no saving happening, just stalling a few days.

It's the devil. Look it up. Curriculum or "dry bubble". Idk the technical word. It's another parasite but it's worse than trich.

Verticillium dry bubble aka Lecanicillium fungicola
"Verticillium dry bubble, recently named Lecanicillium fungicola, is a mycoparasite that attacks white button mushrooms, among other hosts, during its generative period. L. fungicola infects the casing layer on the cap structure of several edible mushrooms."

This looks like a pain in the ass. Did you just dump everything?

So I had a great first flush from my tubs. But my 2nd one something seems to be wrong? My mushies are falling over and peeling apart.

A cooler. If you don't have a good one head to a liquor store and buy a Styrofoam one.

Pasty actually suggested salting and covering with paper towels to me, I have no inclination of stopping it, just figure it can't sporelate if it's covered

I’ve salvaged some SB’s with tams and had good results as long as you catch it early.
This box had trich starting in a corner. Cut out more than I needed to and wiped the area with a paper towel and a little 70/30 iso mix.

Produced about 15 grams dried. (Thought I had a pic at harvest but I don’t)
This one had about a dime size spot of green mold showing on the surface. Put a few drops of 70/30 mix on it before I removed it. Then I cut the area out. Already put out one flush and it’s starting on its 2nd flush.
1st flush
