Yeah I was testing an LC on a pack of zip lock extra small containers. Yah know like what people make agar in, filled 8 of them lil bitches up with some brf and verm threw em in the microwave, shot em up just to see what was up.
So like 4oz of spawn for the whole box?
Pulled over half an oz dry in 4 fruits today, pretty insane for me not gonna lie, like I did cakes for so fucking long with the same b+ genetics and never anything like this box. I did a cake of these hillbillies just to see what would happen with the same genes I hope

Was the a new experiment? etheir way homie, very good results and like you said I been doin cakes for a while to and to switch it up and get something like this, that why im in this hobby is for the science to try new things so I congradulate you my dude. thanks brother, the shoebox is amazing, like 1 more step than cakes, and none of the sgfc and all kinds of other stuff for cakes.
the microwave is how I "sterilize" all my cakes, and my LC is just a jar, a eye balled spoon of honey, and a hot sip straight from the kettle.
first time with the tiny ziplock containers to bulk tho, i used to test lcs with slightly bigger containers, but first grow in a sec, and had to start from scratch. the lil containers work very well to test a liquid culture cause they are small and cheap so you waste very little, and if you see contams just throw that bitch in a dirty sock or whatever and straight in the trash.
i really don't know how long this will last tho, cause the only real nutrient is a small amount of brf like 2 table spoons of brf can make giants???? just weird to think about how half a pint of powder rice can do this, when some people use entire quarts at a time of high grade nutrient rich grains in each box.
i am not going to question why it be like that, some things in science just let do

Hell yea im going to have to try that out w that microwave. I love making pf cakes cause I feel like im literally making cakes but im like you, ive realized doing shoeboxes and working w agar is a lot better than a messy sgfc. Kinda like the sit and forget idea too. Anyways cheerio and look forward to future grows homie. Cheers -TheLostBoys

Dudes, there is one legitimate use for microwaves...and that's reheating agar. I'd run these notions by someone before you start running with it.

the microwave has failed me very few times, i started like this before i had time or money for a pc, and all else. i found something that worked for me and what i wanted to do with each grow and thats all that matters. but now that i want to get more serious with it, i am upgrading:)

So, my PE6 master shit the bed on me and now I'm about another week off from spawning my Penis Envy jars... but I didn't have as much PE as I would have PE6, so! I'm trying a new tek that I'm going to call "Resurrection Tek." I'm already not holding out much hope for it, but here's the process:
- Take two spent matted cakes from shoeboxes:

- Using your hands break down these cakes back into a loose mixture.
- Bring the mix up to a little below field capacity (you don't want to have to squish too much). I started just adding a little water and mixing until I got to the point that it was all moist.
- Add vermiculite and/or coir at field capacity to bring the full mix up to approx. 50% more volume
- ***In my original mix I was using 1:1 spawn to coir. I am attempting to bring this up to 1:1.5 adding vermiculite:

- Smooth out and add a top layer of verm about 1/8" thick:

Next... well we'll see won't we? I'm already not expecting great shakes from this. The two spent cakes had just finished their 5th flush producing less than 50g wet each. My inspiration came from the discussion of the differences between spawning shoeboxes at 1:1 vs 1:2. I figure there's a chance these cakes I had at 1:1 still have a lot of nutes, but not enough moisture retention material.

Well, they made 5 flushes w/o contam happen. Honestly, I'm mostly expecting this to not have enough nutes. The grain hulls were super soft feeling and the grains themselves were looking thin.
Also, yeah, likely to hit green too. But what the hell. I have the space and the time. Let's experiment!

Don't believe it for a second you had success microwaving cakes and LC's. You can't make a clean lc without agar either.
Don't have money? it only takes a pot to steam sterilize brf cakes.

Yup. well more or less. There's a certain way that I do it that makes it so difficult for me to get a PC and what not, when most things can be done with my method.
I'll start a journal so y'all can see, if yah want.

Lol I don't microwave LC s i just put a splash of honey in a container that can handle heat, and I can poke a hole in and I just fill up my kettle, put on high, and fill the jar.
I thought "i" invented these methods, but I guess there are teks now that are kinda similar.
I started when I was broke, living with parents and had to be creative in my room. I figured out what needed to be done and that's all I needed at the time. Had spores, had materials, knew what worked for me, and didn't post here till years later(now) when I have my own place money and freedom to try new things:) I was just insecure I would get torn apart for posting anything about it.
I'll make a journal for it its kinda funny to be honest even to me. I have a few pics from my last grow to show how these boxes became what they are today.
