What's the most spawn you can put it one shoebox? I want to do as much as I can in one because of the space limitations.

Most I’ve done was two quarts of spawn to 1.5 quarts of cv. The spawn jars usually aren’t a full quart so it works out to be even 1.5 to 1.5 quarts usually.
All my boxes lately have been two quarts of spawn. I’ve had some nice first flushes using that amount.

Kinda figured not to go past two but thought I would ask lol.
How many flushes do these usually get out of them? 3?

I personally haven’t been going past the first flush because I’ve been using oats and it seems to be harder for me to rehydrate my sub without it getting soggy. When I did wbs I was getting three good flushes at least. Now that I’m using oats I get great first flushes and just mist heavily for the second smaller flush. That’s just me though, yours may vary.

I like wbs for my master jars and use oats for receiving jars. Wbs is such a mess sometimes... I also noticed with wbs for me my sub would dry out faster. I started soaking my wbs spawn in a bucket for 15mins and using a screen with a rubberband to hold it down to drain out the water. I had better results that way with wbs as spawn. Now that I’m using oats though I don’t need to hassle with that because oats hold water better.

I do the same thing, but I soak it right in the jar. I just fill the jars with water after I shake them.
Wbs is definitely finicky.

I’m sure it will. You can still get multiple flushes with oats. Mine just get soft sometimes if I overhydrate. Just heavily misted my five and sprayed some water down the sides. Gave them a couple days to recover first.
Nice first flushes btw!

I hear it’s one of the best grains. Just harder to prep, and can be expensive. I may have to try those someday just to have the experience. Not sure how different they are compared to oats.

Rye? It's expensive. Well rye BERRIES are expensive. Rye grass seed is pretty cheap however.

This is my first attempt at cultivation. I put together a shoe box from 4 1/2 pint jars B+ 6 days ago and here is how it looks as of now. I left the lid unsecured last night because I was told I was still over field capacity of my coir even after adding verm. Anyway just looking for opinions and suggestions.
