None of the luecistic varieties I've seen are very rhizomorphic; but doesn't keep them from fruiting like mad:

Brain Bulb said: Going to spawn attempt #3 on APEโs tonight! First one made it to spawn then got green mold and the second started showing tams in the jar. Really hope this one works out!

You're spawning those jars tonight?
They don't look done colonizing to me.

This is what I was thinking too.
Brain bulb did you spawn the other jars before they were completely colonized? Grain will contaminate pretty quickly if it's not fully colonized when you spawn

Thanks to Caps, I'm really good at recognizing bacteria now. Thanks Caps! I've tossed at least 3 jars from your training. Still don't understand that "melted ice cream look" but I do know what I'm looking for.

@RandyFeller the picture was from last night. The jar was more colonized this morning and should be even better tonight.
@Caps. Why do you think itโs bacterial? Just so I know what to look for.

I know you're asking caps, but what points it out for me is the way the grain looks "wet" when pushed up against the glass of the jar. See how not all grain is doing it, especially where it would make most sense (up by the condensation at the top)? That's what's telling me. Caps will likely add "See that melted ice-cream look?" which I never see.

That thick white mycelium is meshed with bacteria... it thickens up and gets more difficult to see individual strands: like it's melting

Damn, your trays are DEEEEP, I have to ... fold my mushrooms down (basically lay the cap flat and it kinda breaks half off the stem). What brand do you got? I hate breaking my shrooms!
I actually took some peoples advice on here and broke out a couple bottoms in my trays. Took a hammer to the bottom and busted out all the pieces to leave myself with two rings. you can use the rings as spacers for bigger mushroom trays. I use my reg ones for the smaller shrooms, and put spacers in between the bigger ones.
Not sure the brand because I got it used and it doesn't have a name on it. Came with 7 or 8 trays. Think I may have seen Caps McGee with similar trays.

Mine is ronco too, just a circular one. Good dehydrators with no noise, just a heating element underneath.
Looked it up and thatโs the brand.

So scrap it? Iโve transferred this culture several times and havenโt had any visible bacterial growth, i.e. dots on the surface or under myc. If itโs meshed with the myc I guess itโs been that way since my T1.

On a side note, my AA+ are looking purdy:-). Lots of blue capped pins! Will probably have to harvest some of the big ones as the caps open to let the other pins catch up.
Have this RH clone plate thatโs actually starting to pin. Can I still use it to transfer or spawn?
