this is the set up, fabric breaths so I know air is moving thru it.

I do not have any lighting set up, other then the celling fan/light
I also read that flipping the lid was common, then dub, or bag ect. you suggest putting the lid on correctly and left unsnapped?

Another with some side pinning

Are these looking okay? Or does the lack of pins this long indicate somethings afoul?
Thanks for any input
Contamination can do that too, but I don't think that's the case here.
Are you misting because the surface is pretty wet...I'd let that evaporate for sure.
Closet grows are tricky because light and FAE are at times not abundant enough

You can get the same effect with lack of FAE, but usually its like FAE is nonexistent to get long, leggy mushies. I see it a lot with gourmets especially....

That is not going to provide adequate FAE IMO....you need something to channel fresh air in and you definitely need a better light set up.

Okay, I have lighting on the way *1 65k daylight cfl*
I have a small fan inside the closet I can set to burst every few hours for a min or so, sound reasonable?
I also haven't really misted at all, that just isn't really evaporating.

Indeed, I read about depriving enoki (flammulina velutipes) mushrooms of FAE specifically to achieve long thin stipes with small caps.

Don't be afraid to mist, but only do it when it needs it. Ie, when there's no moisture on the surface. Just let it all evaporate between mistings.
And better light will serve u well. I like my LED lighting. It's only 8w and it's bright as fuck.

Lack of FAE causes fuzzy feet... insufficientlight causes long skinny stipes and small caps

My Mazatec was very skinny steam and small caps but it was like a forest of them in that shoebox it had the same light as the golden teachers and same fae but all the mushrooms were very close together don’t know what the problem was. And the treasure coast in the boot box is looking the same

Lack of evaporation is a sign of insufficient FAE...like I said it's a combination of both lighting and FAE IMO.
Your setup is similar to a Martha Greenhouse which everyone I've encountered needed forced FAE from the outside. Either leave it unzipped or make a hole in the material and put the fan outside pumping air in...

Its not a light switch thing. Sometimes in vitro fruits with no fae have no fuzzy feet. Sometimes nearly open air ones do have fuzzy feet
for sure. sometimes its genetics. other times its conditions.
I think the jury is still out on the fuzzy feet root cause

Yeah, I'm not sure why this is in an elaborate gig like this, but my first thought was ditch the closet thing and then put the lids on there normal (without latching) and that should fix your issues.

The closet is just to house my tubs, I can't have them out in the open and I had hoped tbis would be better then an actual closet due to issues stated above me
Thank you all for the advice, I can't wait for the light to arrive, and ill figure out somthing with the fan

I mean I could see it if you were into exotics and wanted open trays in there; but if you're just growing cubes, it's too ez to just use straight tubs.

Cool, thanks Caps! Just did my second transfer last night so I’ll see what it looks like in a few days. Hopefully it goes a little more rhizomorphic.

Going to spawn attempt #3 on APE’s tonight! First one made it to spawn then got green mold and the second started showing tams in the jar. Really hope this one works out!
