A couple KS shoeboxes

And those three B+

Is there a reason some may be opening sooner than others? I plan on getting some prints from the open ones.

Been a few months since I posted on here. Divorces blow, seriously.
Still, I’ve been growing. And just experimenting. This was totally by accident!

PE6, print>agar>LC using the biopsy method. Then LC to oats, and birthed to a shoebox (1 qt oats to 1.5 qt CV) These babies ranged in weight from 49g to 69g, wet of course.
Never had boomers this big so thought I’d share!

Heya Caps!
I wasn’t aware PE6 made monsters like this - one of the tubs is obviously triched out; the other two are suspicious. So I assumed competition in the tub might have resulted in a few big monsters in an attempt for the spores to disperse more readily. So it’s nice to know that the giants are just characteristic!

mushboy deserves some love on this one. Proof that edibles can be cultivated in a shoebox. King Oysters can be cultivated in a shoebox. Traditional A2G then straw/newspaper/cardboard/whatever for sub. I have some ornamental grass and other shit in my yard I cut down in the fall then hydrated/pasteurized for sub. They just need 53F (optimal) to trigger pinning then back to room temp for fruiting. They're not huge FAE hogs like traditional Oysters.

Last one is 3rd flush after around 3 months. Oysters refuse to contam.

Anyone know why all of my mushrooms have a brown stripe going from the base of the shroom to the cap? It's just a single brown stripe.

Nice! Definitely going to be trying some oysters with these. Seems like those King Oysters take a while, longer than Pleurotus ostreatus you think? I saw someone on this thread post an ostreatus grow where they made some holes for the fruits in the side of the boxes, looked nice and happy.

It's personal preference, but I would probably wait until the caps were a bit more open. i.e. not quite flat, but almost.

Wait, seriously? I can't tell if you're messing around. I did a brief search and came up with nothing explaining this... is it bad? Fuck, I had a batch with something similar to this and didn't think anything of it.

the stripe is usually an indicator of the water content in a sub.
psuedomonas will cause visible damage to the mushroom tissue. a brownish stripe is just a brownish stripe, right?
