It's imperfect lid will provide plenty of FAE... or it does for me and many others who post in this thread... I usually look at day 4, and day 10... they really don't need you much lol

Practices have really been simplified and streamlined recently... 12/12 lighting has been shown beneficial to mycelium through all stages of growth from spore to spent... dark colonization period with restricted FAE is outdated misinformation as well

Lol when I stared back in 2014 way before I made my account some people were still colonizing in 100% darkness "no peaking or you'll fuck it up" type shit, n condesending as hell to questions. N that was only a few years ago. thanks for the links I've read nearly all of them, based on what I do I was shocked when I started seeing awesome humble stuff like that on here. This place is getting better constantly n maybe some will look at this post in a few years calling me a fool but whatever that's just science

I went with a cheap brand of shoebox from the dollar store and they don't hold humidity well at all.. need to get some sterilites.

What have you been using for spawn? I’m going to try to soak some oats and see if it helps reduce my contamination’s.

That's just dirty spawn.. either bacterial so it was weakened or the spawn itself was already infected with thrich.

Idk if it works like that.. trich is parasitic. If garden coir is loaded with trich, spores can germinate before colonization. And like I said it's parasitic so it becomes one with the mycelium and it has an outbreak when the colony weakens from age.

So you think germinating endospores before PCing is a BS myth or you just assume my technique is sloppy or that its probably something else?
