Try proper pasteurization of your coir and post pics of your jars and agar before innoc.

Yes, I wait 10 minutes after the last air bubble to weight.

Some of these guys are hydrating their coir with warm tap water... it's not the coir... unless of course you're getting the stuff used for agriculture/landscaping: which is usually "enriched" with trich to combat the growth of other molds

I get mine from Petsmart.
Here are 5 jars from the same batch, inoculated on 10/31 that I haven't spawned yet.

Damn, that looks indecipherable from myc to me. I'm even eyeing it in my hand now and it looks exactly like thick myc to my untrained eye. Guess I need to study some more pics of contams.
It does seem too wet to be healthy now that I'm taking a closer look.

IMO, excess moisture is the leading factor in bacterial infection, and is the foothold for most molds as well... if coupled with even slightly insufficient FAE, the issue(s) compound greatly... may be just extremely bacterial/thickened mycelium (pic is a little blurry) but something is off... a substantial enough infection may very well weaken the culture enough to be susceptible to contaminants introduced at spawn, and could easily be the root of your issues

Thanks for the tips. There's soooo much information floating around its hard to insure only the right stuff sticks in your brain. I read in the oat tek that the oats can't be too dry, but when I allowed the oats to dry longer they were so dry they completely stalled with no myc growth. This time around I might have went too far in the opposite direction. I'm going to focus on getting the right moisture content this time maybe incorporate a soak since I haven't been doing that.

I prepped in the evening and dried until the following afternoon (about 20 hours)... oats seem to start slower than WBS, but the overnight oats are doing better than 4 hours dried oats the batch prior

So, my most prolific shoebox yet... Total for 3 flushes is 712.44g wet, over 1.5 lbs. First spawned 11/24. PE6, 1:1 oat spawn to coir only.
Pretty impressed with this one. Will likely let it go for a 4th flush. Got one monster out of it too, gonna eat him whole.

Aye bois so if my boxes are pretty much full colonized, and I don't have enough room in a fc and am not home from like 7am till bout 8pm most days, should I be better off with a casing layer over just throwing another shoebox on top n having them suffocate and get stingy from lack of fae, i have done trays and cakes of all sorts, but never had to many for my sgfc, and also wasn't gone 12 hours a day in the past, I have a full automated light/ faning system just didn't plan for my shoe boxes to finish so quick. So if y'all got some ways to ensure constant Fae and humidity for the shoebox style it will deffinently be apreciated.

Just keep the top snapped until pins develop, then it'll maintain it's own microclimate much more efficiently... I usually only mist once before first flush harvest... once fruit are large enough, dubtub it... it will get plenty of FAE just from turbulence created by the heat of metabolism... shoeboxes are fairly set and forget, no fanning or constant misting needed
