Thanks! Yeah I was trying a new agar recipe and most of the species I have going really like it, thereβs a few that donβt. Think I need to reduce the nutrients a bit but the cultures are healthy.

With pretty much all of the shoeboxes Iβve made, I always get knots all over the sides. Just the very beggining stage, pinhead size knots. But they never mature at all, and I always get great pinsets and great yield, with barely any side pins until I get to around flush 3. For an example you can look at my avatar picture. That tub had plenty of very small knots all over the sides.
I had the same problem with my last tub. Got side pins in the corners, but very little on top surface. And the ones on top never developed at all and only two of the side pins did.
I read somewhere too much water in the sub could cause this. Anyone know any better? It also took me really long time to develop the first pins. Something like 3-4 weeks.

Excess moisture causes more issues than too dry... I'd be willing to bet that's why you stalled out

Pretty sure. I havenβt seen any signs of bacteria. This was a GSA but I added 7g LME to the grains before boiling. Think Iβll try it again with 3g. I actually have some transfers I did to compare side by side with standard MEA. Will take some pics when I get home from work.

I've done PE in shoeboxes. Just used a coir top layer at spawn.

Apes all the way!
I wonder if pans could 've grown in a shoebox if fae holes were made
Im currently attempting pans in shoeboxes. Dialing in the FAE has definitely been challenging. No fruits yet

First off, thanks Mushboy. Your posts have been very helpful to me.
My question: If I only have 4 brf jars, one is almost 100% colonized, one is 75%, and two are 40%, would I be better off doing a sgfc and putting each cake in there as they are ready? Or should I wait it out and do this tek since I already have the coir and shoeboxes and put the colonized jars in a fridge until the rest are ready(just bought the fridge so it should be clean)?

I'd fridge the 100%, if the others are moving slow... remove any jars from the fridge 2 days before spawning for recovery

Hey! I'm about to send you a PM! I'm currently trying to fruit Pans in both shoeboxes and mini monos. No fruits yet but I've only been in fruiting conditions for 5 days. Check your inbox!
