Yeah, there's more cleaning, but for me it's faster. Like when I've had to break down and clean my mono's I need to haul over the garbage, break the substrate down into chunks, and those basically fill a whole damn garbage bag. When I do a shoebox I just walk over and flip the box into the trash and I'm done. More, yet faster/easier cleaning.

Maybe this has more to do with how many you're spawning at once.
For example, I spawn 2-4 boxes a week. Week 1 boxes will fruit first, week 2 underneath developing pins and so on. Rotate up and dub after harvesting week 1 boxes.
So, I've thought about this issue a bit. It's been my only "concern" in all this. However, I'm guessing I'll only run into this problem occasionally.
The setup will be two shelves that will hold 2 stacks of two shoeboxes on one shelf, and 3 stacks of two shoeboxes on the other. Totalling 10 shoe boxes. So far only about 1/2 of my grows "push" the lids on these. Meaning that if I cycle this right with growing I can just shift which boxes are on top or bottom so they can push the lids if needed.
Granted, I'm still fairly new, so my fruit sizes could increase substantially as I get better at growing. This will require me to re-evaluate my situation if that happens.
Sound like a solid plan?

I've considered buying some of these. Not sure if anybody has tried it, but I imagine with some playing it would work. It should make for a really easy yet compact multi chamber setup.

Think I should go ahead and case tonight? I’ve read Caerulescens likes a standard peat based casing.

So I did some measurements for my grow space. Looks like I could actually fit 16 shoeboxes!

I moved a couple supplies around, so ignore those placed on the top shelf, but as you can see from the arrows I could fit 3 more rows of four boxes across.
I'm thinking I'll start with three rows, giving me 12 shoeboxes. This should keep me busy for a while messing around with a few projects, especially since I have some PE growing on agar that's looking really good that I'll probably transfer next week.
Has anyone grown PE in shoeboxes? I hear they like a peat casing... any truth to this?

If you stagger your fruiting then you could stack 8 fruiting and 8 colonizing. Or grow ape and leave the lid on and fruit 16 at the same time .

Yeah... My grows have been staggered, but between mono/shoe so they've been fruiting about the same times because my shoeboxes are so much faster.
I've been really really wanting to try APE.... I should find some.
