Dont think its hurting anything though
So kinda like an unmodified sgfc mono-ish thing....I follow you....I've seen it done successfully in the past.

Yeah pretty much...idk just trying different shit to see what works best I guess. Was mainly hoping it would help with fae
If you open fruit the shoeboxes inside the big tub with the perlite I would flip the lid on the big tote to be sure they get good FAE.
Yup exactly what I did

If the sub moisture was correct from the get go, in a shoebox especially, the sub shouldn't dry out if the lid is on...even if you live in the dessert.
It was field capacity, just coir. I squeezed it and there were several drops. I think it's my rh and shitty fitting lid. I run moons with the same coir prep and don't have this problem

70 and 90? Holy shit!

Looks about right: I typically see full surface colonization in 4 days

with all strains or specifically Maz? What am I doing wrong if mines moving significantly slower? It's MS inoc'd grain - 1 quart of spawn at about a 1:1 ratio.

Most varieties yes... may be prepping sub slightly over field capacity: seems to slow things considerably IME... I spawn everything 1:1 coir only

Mine usually take a week or two
Could be spawn to sub ratio and genetics and temperature

I like the water capacity I use.
They also perform fine.
Genetics, ratio, could play a part. 3 days is fast. I don't think that's typical. Unless you use a really high spawn ratio maybe.
Here's a couple old pics I never uploaded from a couple weeks ago

Always 1:1... ratio certainly affects speed... my 1:2 boxes were typically 6-7 days I guess... makes sense
And your SB's always look killer... I don't always look at who's posted what I've read lol... MUHBAD

I agree, 70 seems to be a sweet spot for me too. Lately I've been a little lower, seems like there's a noticable increase in colonization once you start to get away from the 68-70 range but not sure if that's just me or genetics can play a role or not
