So this just popped up in my shoebox. We're in the second flush of some B+
A quick background - WBS colonized, I let it sit out and dry a week, then spawned it 1:4 in coir. It took forever to pull together and I pulled one piece of lipstick mold off it from the first flush. 6QT Sterlite
Can anyone tell me what the hell this thing is? Literal grass? Possible mutant?

It's white from 3/4 up the base and then turns green. I'm going to eyeball it and hold off from dunking my tub and see what happens to it.
It's way too small to try and tear apart, so I may end up using my scalpel to cut as many pieces as I can onto some agar plates.

Probably just a seed that sprouted and isn't getting enough light. It seems pretty common to get random sprouts in shoeboxes. At least with the coir I have.

Question:
Do you guys think it would be okay to add 2 Qt of spawn to one shoebox? Well, technically it's not 2 Qts because they're both only 2/3 full. Or should I just do one jar to each shoebox?
I would prefer to spawn to one shoebox.. but if it makes more sense to spread it out..

Yeah, I just edited the post. I'm just going to go the dubtub route because I've got plenty of shoeboxes. Just going to use clamps.

Looks like a sprout... I wouldn't worry about it... though could indicate improper grain prep

Don’t mess with the lid until you need to. Like the day before they reach it, or just as they reach the lid.

That is what I have done in the past as well
I want to try it with the grocery bag method because bod claimed quicker duration to fruit
Also am in a smaller space now and don't want to slightly knock the top of the box off
It's also a bit more space effective to use bags/bowl covers

Coir doesn’t require pasteurization.
