To me that looks like lack of light and overly wet sub...
I would totally buy lack of light. I had to leave it in a less than ideal location as far as light goes right as it was getting to the pinning stage (for about 6 days). Really need to get my shit dialed in for cold weather. I had such a nice batch in July.

I feel u man. The cold really slows things down for me too.
Just get a small "heat lamp" with a 6500k cfl bulb. U can put it right on top of the tub nomatter where u move it.

I pulled 3 trays toward full colonization, and have tossed all my rejects.
I only see two pins in one of the three boxes, should I flip the lids now? Each one still has a ton of condensation on the walls/lid.

The night time temps are usually about 6-8 lower than day time temps--so the paradox is that I need the heat when I don't want the light!

Hmmmm. Well that temp difference should be fine. Just slower growth. U could wrap a blanket around the bottom of ur tub so the mycelium will keep itself a little warmer at night. Just around the base, not the whole tub.

I have a heat mat that I can use as well.
What I'd really love is a mini heater (ideally USB powered) with built-in thermostat, but I haven't been able to find such a thing--nor components to make one.

They sell heaters with temp control at pet stores. Near reptile stuff. They sell foggers too that i was interested to try at some point.

I'll look into that, thanks.
I think I also didn't do myself any favors with the uneven surface of the substrate, which I'm normally much more careful about. So, lesson learned there.

Heat lamps work nice and are more efficient than electric space heaters.

You asked this already.

Quick question. First shoebox ever, and first time running rw's. Just wbs and coir, the blue lid shouldnt interfere with the light right? Its transparent, not opaque
