Im not sure... But I've seen people post about doing Mono of King oyster... But that stuff requires like 50-60f and really high humidity.
I'm getting some Reishi and a couple types of oysters going. Ill probably do some shiitake, even though they seem like more of a pain than they're worth.

It still grows, it's food. King oysters grow like coral in a mono, I did one and got pounds of each flush. Definitely worth the good eats. Still got a bag in the fridge from the summer. If you want traditional conks just form a log with a bag and spawn it in the mono, or shoebox if you want small amounts. You just have to adapt your equipment or teks.

Does anyone have results from different exotic psilocybe and panaeolus with shoeboxes? Shoeboxes were so insanely productive and space friendly with cubensis that I switched my entire setup to shoeboxes. I finally have some galindoi spore plates with viable mycelium, and I'm hoping I don't have to change my setup by much. I'm also gonna swab some pan cambo and pan cyans plates soon

I’ve grown Tampanensis, Hoogshagenii, and Panaeolus in shoeboxes I believe someone has also grown a Gymnopilus species in shoeboxes

I’m working on Ps. Caerulescens and Pan Cambo’s at the moment. Found these on here.

Is hardwood sawdust or composted hardwod necessary for Ps species? I am going to try Ps zap very soon and I need to decide if I want to include sawdust in my substrate or not.
From my readings, I believe some have fruited the Zap without wood of any kind added, but I wonder if it is worth trying from the get go (or adding soem sawdust to my grain bag)
I have personally done Pans in shoeboxes as well as stone producers (fruits but no prints) and I know that germs is correct with the gym shoebox.

Gotta say it again.Shoeboxes and APE are like...

These 2nd flush APE were fruited with the lid on.
 Some fatties.

This same clone put out different "looks" in each of these shoeboxes.
Took swabs from both variants and kept them separate.

I’m on my 3rd attempt on Ps. Caerulescens and I used hardwood BBQ pellets, coir, verm and perlite this time. It seems to be colonizing a lot faster and healthier. I’ll shoot some current pics when I get home. The other subs I’ve tried so far were a pre-made manure based sub with peat, perilite and verm casing and straight coir. So far those haven’t worked.
I think the Pans should be the same as you would normally do the, just may need to adjust material ratios.

40 lb bags of hardwood pellets are cheap AF. Its like $4.25/bag here. I'm not sure what else you have in your recipe Fish, but it might turn out to be cheapest to use the pellets.

So attempt #3 at my Ps. Caerulescens is coming along. Wanted to see if you guys had any feedback for me. Spawned it on Sunday morning with 2 lbs of GS. Sub is HWFP, coir, verm and perlite. Planning on using a peat, verm and perlite casing that I found recommended for this species. When should I put the casing on?
Thanks in advance!
