Lol!!!! that’s what I wanted to say, but I just cases my first SBox. About 1/4”, and the way the mycelium reaches out of it is really cool looking.

It’s not casing, I don’t think. Casing is what you add to the top of your substrate once it is colonized, correct??... The bottom 1/3 is all GS with 2/3 straight coir on top so 1:3 ratio. I didn’t mix my GS with the sub.
....As I stated I’m trying new methods and this box is colonizing faster than the last box so I’m happy with it. Don’t really care what it looks like if it produces fruits. It’s been 4 days and I’d be willing to bet the myc will reach the surface by the end of the week.
I can’t say I have yet... But anyone that’s had success growing Caerulescens I’m open to feedback. Have two more bags of GS just about ready and will be trying something new with each one. Always open to constructive feedback.

I really wish I knew what"GS's" and "SB's" are
Top layer, casing, whatever you want to call it.
You didn't mix any spawn with the top and it's pure coir? I would call that a top layer I guess
So it's colonizing upward ...? Definitely keep us updated on the colonization rate

Update! Just got a pic of the same shoebox from yesterday. The others look good. I'm pretty sure I'm keeping good surface conditions, I've had to mist some but not much at all. Before I misted I made sure previous moisture had evaporated.
I think they're drying out a tad quicker because the constant furnace/space heater and that I could have used more sub and spawn, but I'm maintaining, there is a small mycelium piss dicolor on one of my tubs, with stronger mycelium white under/around it. Nothing to stress I think probably because of it maybe being dry.
Same shoebox from yesterday! sorry for the rambling im pretty stoned lmao

Oh, kinda like a top spawn. Farmers do that with oysters, but just because they don’t have time t shake bags. They don’t mind the extra wait time, and they spawn in front of a hood.

In Bod’s SB Tek he mentioned to ways to start SB’s. 1.) Mix GS with sub and case it or 2.) Just put the GS in and add your sub on top. I decided to go with the later of the two this time.
And yes, so far it’s about 1/2 way to the top around the edges. (I know it looks wet, just misted).
