Its the fuckin truth avoid!!! just disregard anything he says while I know absolutely nothing.
Missed the point and disrespectful.
Evidently this is one of those topics that potentially could have grave consequences for speaking without knowledge.

I soaked it with some boiled and cooled tap water, drained the excess and put it back into fruiting conditions but thats been a bit over a week now. There's a ton of aborts left from the last flush that are getting fuzzy with myc but no biters yet.

Give it more water, you don't need to do all that with water, straight from the tap is fine.
I would give it more water then drain and wait again, keep humidity high as fuck
Usually by now I would expect to see pins

With pretty much all of the shoeboxes I’ve made, I always get knots all over the sides. Just the very beggining stage, pinhead size knots. But they never mature at all, and I always get great pinsets and great yield, with barely any side pins until I get to around flush 3. For an example you can look at my avatar picture. That tub had plenty of very small knots all over the sides.
Can't find your previous post. You're talking about poor performance on flush3...?
If it's 1qt spawn I would think it's about spent by then
I usually judge by weight the sun produced. Total if i get 2oz from 1qt I call it a day and move on, replace it

Had so many side pins I decided to move my substrate to a fruiting chamber.

Howdy lads.
I got ~70, ~95, and ~110 grams wet on my three Thai tubs. How does that sound ? I used around 600mls of grain for spawn, so how do I calculate BE?

I've seen them take 3 weeks between flushes... just maintain conditions and wait... no need to sterilize water for rehydration: your substrate was spawned in open air and chock full of contaminants already... we generate spawn in sterile conditions so that we have a healthy living culture present that has a chance to colonize the substrate before contaminant spores have a chance to germinate and grow to be an issue

3rd flush side/even bottom pins are pretty typical IME

Just the knots? I suppose it's fine if they're not developing pins and you're still getting surface fruit with fairly even pinset

Puerto Rican shoe box, first one that I had the tops turn down with quite a few rosecombs. It started full pin fest then stalled and then came to fruition of 235 wet. At least only a couple side pins. I'm guessing the over field capacity substrate I used played a factor.

Couple boxes of shorties. I'm debating whether to harvest tonight,or can I get away with letting them go another 18hrs and not have them go too soft on me.
