Brian Jones said: Sorry, I've been too busy to do a proper search and maybe somebody can help me out. "In general" how many grams of coir per shoebox, and if possible a conversion formula for how much water when using less than a brick of coir? I know about adding verm if the coir ends up too wet. I know there are variables like spawn ratio, but just assuming something average.
Thanks
In the time it took to type this up, you'd've found an answer... Come on now

Going to remove the tape for the dub, this one is going to push it up. Going to sacrifice a bit of a spore-explosion to let some of the others mature.

Why not harvest and dry what is mature now and leave the rest to mature on their own? The spores make the fruits taste like shit and allegedly can hinder future flushes. You can also just cut the caps off and leave the stems to not disturb adjacent or connected fruits or sub.

I harvested this morning, still no spores a little shy of 600grams wet, about 2oz dry from first flush, I can see how this is gonna add up fast

Got a harvest off of this this morning. My scale went to hell so I didn't get a wet weight on this shoebox. These were b+, my first decent harvest in a very long time.

First flush harvest after removing larger specimens yesterday. 2-3 day rest period after spawn then FAE was dramatically increased. I've started adjusting my substraight to my environment and used a 2:1 coir:grain no additive except gypsum in the grain. Once my ratio is correct I will then think about adding proper nutrients to find my golden ratio.

While I saw very few sidepins I'll not be going without a liner in the future simply because of the ease of harvesting. Not yet tried floating a sub, I'd rather not if I can help it. Not finding a need to dunk for a second flush at all with a new technique I'm working on. It's really cool to watch shrunken dried substrates slowly re-inflate as the second flush begins. I can only assume this will be beneficial for those with cultures that still have enough energy to flush a third time, this will cut out the dunk process completely.
These are second flush boxes getting ready to go in the compost pile. Sure they're a little tall and skinny. At this point I really don't care it's just a bit extra.

2nd flush comes in just 9 grams less than the first at 345g.

What variety am I looking at?
Spawned 9/27, B+ cloned for pronounced umbo on the right, and 100g cloned PE6 on the left:
Outdoor AA+ I should've checked for yesterday... bound for outdoor tea collection:

Nice grow! Did you dub tub those or were they in a SGFC or something?

No I incubated them for about 5 days then I took the lid off and put them into a tote with the lid cracked open a little bit. I would mist them about every other day mainly just when they needed it. My surface conditions were not perfect, they got a little dry the last few days and the surface wasn't very level, I think that had a factor on my uneven pinset. I'm still very happy with my results I wish I would have just done shoeboxes when I used to grow, way easier than monos in my opinion. Thanks for the compliments.
