Prep your grain a little dryer next time, see if that helps...

First shoebox first pins, woot!

And then there’s this one.  Uncased, it seemed to really explode but now it is super lumpy and fuzzy...and slightly orange/brown in some areas?  Is this the way things should look, or has this gone horribly wrong?

Contaminated... looks moldy and probably has a bacterial infection

Eek... think you missed something... it's too far gone to be from spawning to bulk... this type of contamination doesn't occur with healthy spawn... many molds will be and stay white without FAE...

Actually, now that I think about it this was one of the two jars I posted pics of the other day, and the consensus was they both looked icky.  So it’s probably from the worst looking spawn.  Lol....stoned growing and posting.  My bad.

So just curious, i just want to do one shoebox for testing, have never done coir before, if i'm reading right for 1 650g brick i should use about 1.75q of water? I believe it was bods bucket tek that said 5q for 3 bricks. Just want to get it right. Or should i use less than 650g of coir for 1 shoebox? long ass thread didn't see this exactly...

3.5 quarts to a brick... where'd you get 1/2 that? A brick is enough for like 6 shoeboxes? It'll fill one 54qt tub with 5 qts spawn

I use about a 1/4 (165g) brick per shoebox.
A whole brick should need about 3-4 qts water.I use about 3.25-3.5 with 650g just coir.

You need to re-read... 5qts to 1 brick for 1 mono... this may shed some light on why you're having a hard time...  who knows what you're doing when you say "followed tek to a T"

I'm saying i question if you're following teks... like, or are you winging it based on what you thought you read? I hate seeing you  (anyone) having trouble getting canopies  (or fruit) and have actually been thinking about your situation quite a bit these last several hours lol
