It is in a closet, but the door stays open at all times. I have a 15 year old so can't have them completely out in the open. Working on clearing out one of my spare rooms and putting it under lock and key. Didn't realize how addictive this "hobby" was gonna be. Lol. I guess I can put a small oscilating fan in the room and aim in the general direction of the door.

I would place the fan in the closet pointing outwards... 30 minutes to an hour a day should be sufficient

Thanks for all the advice Caps. I will post pics when I get to that point. Hopefully I'll be showing you some nice full first flushes for my first grow!

Any noticeable difference in pinning time between the pes Hawaiian and south American that you can tell to those of you who have worked with both? I have a tub of each, but mr south Americans just aren't pinning yet. It's all knotted up and looks better than the Hawaiian. I know, be patient. Lol. Just wondering if that particular species took a little longer.

I guess to answer my own question. PE is pretty much the only cube with a noticeable tone difference in pinning, fruiting, etc?

Pretty much.
Those other normal varieties may have their own tendencies, but time to colonize and pin depends on a lot of genetic and environmental factors.

Two of my shoeboxes - first attempts! One on the left is 1qt spawn to 1 qt CVG. Itβs very lumpy! Right pic is of 2qts spawn/CVG with a little CVG casing
Any feedback would be most welcome!

Bacteria wouldnβt surprise me. Seems to be the bane of my existence!
Any way to avoid it? I feel like my sterile technique is usually pretty good (no problems with bacteria on agar). These shoeboxes were made with βtic tac to tiger droppedβ Pasty plate agar to grain spawn which I figured was a likely way to contaminate things (more time cutting up the agar, etc)
