Especially with prolific pinset, it's better that some abort... the fruit that aborts does so that (genetically) stronger strains can grow to potential... otherwise, prolly end up with a bunch of smaller fruit: with roughly the same yeild I suspect

I personally pick everything including aborts because I don’t want them rotting on me and causing issues down the road. I like to leave my sub bare for consecutive flushes.

Unpicked aborts will be eaten by mycelium eventually... doesn't cause contamination

That's been my experience so far. They usually just fuzz over with mycelium eventually. I wasn't sure if them being eaten by the mycelium used up energy that could be put towards fruiting or something tho.

I harvested this 4 brf cake APE box last night. Floated it so I could get surgical with it.
Got a few nice clusters and blobs.
 Maintained surface conditions throughout harvest.
Less than my average, but I'm very pleased with these APE.

Those swabs are tough. A cool idea I had tho, in a sab, use sterilized tweezers to pull single strands of cotton off the q tip and drop strand on agar. I figured I could get more uses out of it that way and have a better chance of spores staying on the agar.
But be careful u don't pull the whole cotton of it. Then ull need to put a sterile glove on. Caps, I take it it still hasn't got there?
Edit: sab not dab. And I was speaking about the prints. Not nates Swab.

I like this method to. Pulling off a bit with tweezers has worked great for stubborn swabs.
