First APE grow first flush. I clipped a couple yesterday to have some last night. I didn't have high expectations. Super stoked on these. Just showing off I am proud of these.

First shoeboxes. Harvested what was ready, letting the rest go for a bit.

Second shoebox with APEs, looks like a better first flush this time, also looks healthier, 1 qt spawn to cvg with some cvg casing put straight away

After the first flush, should I mist, or dunk, or something different? I've tried searching but for some reason everything that comes up is really old. Thanks.

flyhighfunguy said: I posted this in the AA+ thread as well but figured id post it here as well for some mixed opinions.
Im growing my first run of AA+ right now using shoeboxes with 2 quarts each. Im noticing that pretty much all of the caps have a blue-ish hue to them, almost like they've been bruised. Some are so blue that they almost look black. Is this normal, and if so what causes this? Also, what do you guys think of the pinset? Its not as dense as some of my past ones, however, the fruits are by far the fattest ive ever seen.

Towards the bottom left of the tub you can see the super fat mushroom with the almost blue/black looking cap that i mentioned. Id almost think it was an abort if it wasnt getting so fat/still growing.
Just popped the dub tub off for another look at those weird looking AA+'s, and they are starting to grow pretty rapidly now. The caps are just barely starting to open up, so i think these are gonna be some pretty nicely sized fruits. The caps range from beige, to sky blue, to dark blue, however none of them seem to be aborts. The stems are incredibly fat and thick.
Not the best picture, but you can see good enough i hope.
Just harvested one of these tubs today. Not sure whats going on with these tubs, but these are some awesome looking mushrooms. It appears that only some of them are producing spores. One of the caps is making a very dark print, while one has not dropped any visible spores at all yet after over 12 hours. Just cooked up some agar to get some clones going tomorrow. Do you guys think these are just awesome aa+ genetics, or whats up with these lol.

If you look around the tub you can see there's a few different looking caps. Some kinda look like cowboy hats, some are cone shaped, and some are more rounded.

I'd take a shot ton of tissue samples, and find a sporeless clone.

just don’t leave the water in for to long or your sub will get waterlogged and it makes it difficult for another flush ime. Two - four hours is good depending on how much water is still in your sub. A good way to tell is the weight of your shoebox. Lift it up and feel how it is compared to when you first started it.

Thanks guys, these are definitely the coolest looking fruits ive ever grown, and also the best pinset ive ever gotten Ill definitely be taking a bunch of tissue samples. I cooked up some agar last night, and have 2 large clusters, and a huge sporeless fruit in the fridge ready to be cloned.

I have to throw this sexy shoebox out because I leave for a week tomorrow morning. At least the other 8 finished in time. This was the only one that had 2 quarts spawn/ 2 quarts coir the others were all one quart of each. I didn’t think it would move slower since they’re both a 1/1 ratio but it didn’t make the cut for time
