I've never grown them. Just from what I've seen and heard from other people's grows. I know they're not big spore producers but maybe keep an eye out for if any start dropping spores.

You won't see spores, if you do, clone it and take prints and distribute.
They will begin to stop growing and if you gently touch them, they get soft almost. If they are soft, they are ready to pick.

Cool I plan on cloning some but like you said I doubt I’ll see spores. Man I hate when I have tubs where the mushrooms are all at different stages of maturity. Is that just genetics that does that? Some veils tearing some baby’s and some mid age

It's MS... thousands of independent strains with independent genetic markers... clone culture will help, and an isolation from that clone culture will all but eliminate staggered pinset

Good tub conditions seem to help get it uniform, but some MS just grows uneven. Total yields seem about the same though.

2 to 4 per box. More cakes per box will colonize faster and create more pin sets.. so I've been told... I'm really loving shoe boxes. I feel like it's easier and more productive for a first-time grower than doing sgfc....
VooDoo do you have a link or thread for how you went about this?

For penis envy, do you guys usually wait a little longer to introduce more FAE? With regular cubensis recently ive been letting it get 90-100% colonized and then flip the lid. For penis envy should i let it get fully colonized and then sit for a week or so, before flipping the lid? Or should i just follow my regular cubensis routine you think?

Fruit from spawn for faster colonization and better flushes

I've heard that penis envy can take a bit longer than regular cubensis though. If I do that I'm worried things will start to dry out too quickly. You don't think I'd have any problems maintaining proper conditions?

If it dries and pulls away from the tub before first harvest, you can run about a1/2" of water down the side for a few hours to bottom water it (Basically, if it runs out of water, just add water! )

Make sure it's properly drained after bottom watering.

Guess we'll see.
This box had me concerned, but it looks like all the 'wispy' growth on top is where the pins are forming.
