Maybe it was dry and not bacterial?

Recently I've had some jars colonize extremely slowly, but once I spawn them to coir the mycelium seems to speed way up, and the bulk sub is colonized usually within a week. They seem to be fruiting pretty well as well.
Is this normal for bacterial jars? Or is it more likely my jars aren't bacterial at all and are just colonizing the jars slowly due to some other reason?
Here's a picture of a tub who's jars colonized extremely slow, but then still colonized the coir very fast and fruited fairly well:

My first APE shoebox is coming along. The sub pulled away from one side early on,and I got a couple side pins there, but I'm not complaining.

These things sure take their time...

Spawned this GT shoebox Oats>CV on 7/21...

Thought my surface conditions were looking pretty good for 6 days when I checked in on it today.... then I spotted the lone side pin. Seems a little fast to get that in 6 days?

It's rare, but it does happen...you just got an aggressive strain in there...be ready for cloning!

How do these look? 2 shoeboxes each with 3 grated half pint brf cakes and coir. Spawned them on Sunday.

So excited to try out this approach. Just birthed my first BRF cakes yesterday to a hybrid monotub. Once I’ve gotten some clean agar isolates I am gonna get some oats and give this a whirl! Thanks for sharing this info!!!

Started my first 2 shoeboxes, and mixed spawn to casing as good as possible then leveled! I went strait to a flipped lid and was wondering from the start should I introduce a 12 on 12 off light, I have both my boxes in our laundry room and there are no windows so I bought a light to put over them! Thank you!!

Yes to the light, I would keep lids snapped until fully colonized. The higher co2 is better for colonization of sub

Hey guys, sorry to be so lazy here, but I have a general consesus question for the community. I know it's already been talked about somewhere in this thread already, but what is the best sub amount for shoeboxes?
I'm torn between 1 quart spawn 1 quart cvg or 2:2. I've done a few of both this go around and the deeper sub depth seems to be holding a bit too much condensation for comfort, with just a bit of pooling in one of them. Is this a common problem experienced by you guys?
Thank you in advance.

Try adjusting the water content of your cv. If it's got pooling and a lot of condensation, it could just be too wet. Try using 90% of the water u normally use to hydrate ur cv.
It depends how thick u want the sub too. Thin subs u can get away without having to dub it.

Yeah, I guess that would be the main issue and not the amount of sub. I was just thinking that if theres more sub in there, it will condensate more and a small tub can only get so much airflow, so there has to be a maximum. But I think my thinking was wrong, and the water content of the CV seems more like the issue, as I made it a tad wetter this time than before. Also, only one of the boxes has the bit of pooling in it, which leads me to beleive it was probably in the bottom of the bucket.
Thanks for your comment!

2 qt spawn 2 qt substrate mix works well... better than one quart each... I've not run 1:2 ratios yet, but I'd suspect 2 quart spawn and 4 qt substrate mix probably a bit much for a shoebox, but would probably work...

For me, this depends on my climate. Me like thin subs on a hot humid climates. While me like thick sub for cool dry climates. Me also like semi dry from field capacity on high humidity climates https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25299471#25299471
