You know, I thought the same thing... if it weren't slower (and more potent) than the other varieties I'm working with, and the vendor I purchased from being a reputable sponsor, I'd almost suspect mislabeling... and thank you much, I'm excited to get some clone culture to grain this evening... though I'll have to wait until Monday evening for petri dishes to Tele tissue from this one

I got 1.5 ounces dry off a first flush from 6 shoeboxes. Not what I was hoping for but it was my first time so whatever. I had a shitload of really little fruits where the veils had already broken. They weren't aborts, they were just little mini shrooms. Any ideas what can cause that? A few of the sidepins I harvested were about the biggest of all the fruits.

Were they all from the same agar batch/plate? probably just a shitty genetics roll from the sounds of it. Eat some, maybe they're potent regardless

Nope, multiple varieties, multiple syringes. Something with my parameters. I've got a bigger tub going now that I'm misting before full colonization, and I've added a pseudocasing this time to hopefully keep more moisture in. Maybe that will help. I think maybe with the last ones they got too dry and I overmisted to compensate. This time I'm gonna try to keep the surface consistently beaded all the way through to the first flush without puddling. I also added a proper light instead of using ambient light from a window. We'll see how it works out. I'd like to get some grown up fruits lol.

I've gotten mostly small fruits from all varieties for a while now... sometimes I will get bigger fruit flushes and the random fruits that come up after the first flush are often much larger.
There are various reasons people say for smaller fruits, but I don't know... I think it just happens fairly often with MS
The Costa Rican I grew recently was all very small fruits over quite a lot of different tubs.. all MSS. No cloning or anything but almost every tub fruited the same

Was your sub field capacity?

Moisture content too high or low, and insufficient FAE can both contribute to small fruits

Lol, I'm going to eat the whole thing!... After printing and cloning of course

If you get the same overall yield from a flush, I'm not sure if any cause for small fruits would be in play because it seems like those would be issues resulting in poor performance all around. If you still get a canopy flush that weighs normal, then it seems like its still performing optimally just with small fruits

A zip from 6 shoeboxes and 9 qts of spawn over a month in my case is a little less than optimal I would say

Yeah definitely something going on here.. I'm just not sure what I think about conditions causing small fruits in general. I'd lean more towards you got small flushes of small fruits, and the non-optimal conditions caused the small flush but not the small fruits

You have second flushes coming ?
Maybe let it dry out see what happens then rehydrate when it feels light, see if it pushes out some pins

I gave them a dunk after I harvested. I didn't harvest the ones that the veils weren't close to popping on. Might be another .5 there. I'm optimistic about a good second flush because second flush fruits are generally bigger, and none of these tubs have spent much energy making fruits, so we'll see. I'll post pics tonight maybe. For now I'm busy with the potency test.
