I currently use an exacto knife, and while it definitely gets the job done, it is very hard to harvest large fruits/clusters with only the small blade of an exacto knife. I tried using a large butchers knife from my kitchen, but found that it was too difficult to harvest with. Im not sure if maybe scissors would be a better option than a knife, but im just looking for whatever the best option is.
I use these cheap breakaway blades along with some twisting and pulling.I can get these for about $.25 each.

Do you know if theres any websites that sell those? Or could i get them at home depot or something? That looks like it would be the perfect little knife.

Alright sweet ill look around a bit more. This one is in stock at my local home depot. Would this be small enough to work with a shoebox you think?

EDIT: Also, would the serrated blade be alright? Or do you prefer a smooth blade for harvesting?

It should work fine for a shoebox, although I usually float mine if it is a dense harvest. Never tried serrated.

Is it alright to float, even if your sub doesnt need a rehydration that bad? I had some really dense flushes recently that would have been much easier to harvest if i floated them up, but i prepped the coir a little wet so i felt they didnt need to be rehydrated.

Are the clusters of mycelium at the base of the mushies active? Worth saving from my shoebox?

This is my first go at the APE. The sub is already pulling away from the sides of the box,and it is just starting to pin. I have read that APE can be a water hog, should I be bottom watering this?
I usually don't have to add water til well into a flush,if it's a heavy pinset. I will add that this was spawned on 7/6 and had it's first misting today before the pic.

Waiting on plates Monday... cap is being printed, and stipe was paper bagged and put in the fridge... I'll pull it out about an hour before taking sample... I appreciate it, I'd be lost without the wealth of knowledge, and the loving nature of the community here... I think I love you guys lol...
