That sub will probably benefit from bottom watering, looks like it’s gonna shrink hard. What variety?

Stropharia - so far it seems like a very strong, fast variety despite my issues at fruiting - they are my own problems not the genetics.
I think I needed a little more water in my coir prep for my current environment situation - very hot and dry which I think is making the sub struggle a bit more. Even though there still seems to be plenty of moisture on the sides and bottoms, the top tended to start drying out. Caught me off guard because the surface had beads everywhere and moisture under lid, etc. The whole thing was strange because all stages of growth were among the best I've seen.

I’m about to leave for a week and have a quart of PE fully colonized. You guys think I could spawn it today and it will be okay or should I wait until I get back? I’m scared of coming back to a trich bomb

Those that don't get much attention seem to "show out" more for me as well.

I was thinking the same. That type of pinset would get a mid flush bottom water if I saw that. Very nice Pixel!

Maybe I'll try a mid bottom water. Like I said, my previous boxes seemed possibly to suffer from a lack of moisture during fruiting, and I remained totally hands off on all these boxes whereas normally I would have misted them a bit.

Case it? You could spawn it today and it would be fine colonizing while you were away.If you wanted to case it,you can top layer at spawn or wait til you get back and apply a casing layer. Either way I think you're safe for a week.

Sorry that was a typo I meant spawn it today and leave it for a week or wait until I come back to spawn it. But you gave me the answer even through my typos lol I will spawn it tonight.
I have about 15 other jars that are fully colonized also but I’ll put those in the fridge. I’m scared of that also hoping nothing goes wrong. I don’t want to just leave them at room temp fully colonized for an extra week though. I just have to hope they don’t get below 32 in the fridge

I've seen this, but i believe it to be inconsistencies in the density settling... I kind of pat the sub a little to make sure there's no loose areas

Did this box perform as well as the usual 2 or noticeably less?

Both of my shoeboxes have some glorious pins now. So relieved since I lost all 11 of my BRF cakes and my 6 WBS jars are too dry and completely stalled.

It's always less my 2 qts I usually get and extra dry oz or more compare to the 1 qt.

Ugh, all of these beautiful pinsets and I'm over here with like 5 pins in my shoebox... I'll get it right one day I suppose.
