Thanks guys... here's a side view

This Stropharia is fruiting a bit slowly compared to its rapid myc growth, but so far its my new favorite variety and may become my goto from this point on. Doing some agar transfers now for cultures to have on hand. These are all spore print -> agar -> LI -> grain -> spawn with no transfers from the initial spore swab plates

I use these instead of dubtubs because I have a tendency to accidentally knock dubbed lids off into the substrate. These are very, very cheap and fit shoeboxes wonderfully, giving room for taller mushrooms as well.
Edit: get the large size.

Thanks! Will mention this over there. Stopped using grocery bags because of transparency issues. With this brand you need to order large size covers specifically online, as the packs I've found in stores have 3 large, 4 med, and 1 small cover all in one. Even then, though, these are only $2 per pack of covers at Walmart. My recommendation, however, is to just look for 14-18" stretchable food container covers online. You can get a 30 pack of large ones for $8 off Amazon. Poke a couple holes in it and voila.

Disappointed this morning to see it looks like most of my fruits are going to start maturing/opening cap while still very small... seems to be happening on all the boxes except one so far, and that one is looking super strong but..
Not sure if its MS genetics, or if I fucked something up. I'm seeing some blue rings below the caps so don't know if that's normal bruising before veil breaks or indication of too low RH.... if there's any bacteria or contams, I haven't seen any signs so far in any of these many tubs or jars

turdfergy said: Dumb on my part but I have solid colored lids for my shoeboxes so I actually can't see top down. I can see good progress from the clear sides. Is it OK to crack the lids to check progress from the top or should I just leave them alone? I don't want to mess with it but at one point I'll need to check.
Thank ya!
As many have said, it's fine to crack the lids, and also most of us dont have clear lids. The specific sterilite models mentioned as "best" because they dubtub easily without clips or tape or anything (flat lip so one will just stand upside down on top of another with relative stability) dont have clear lids.
Also, condensation gets as thick on the top as it does the sides, so you probably wouldn't be able to discern details anyway.

Can't really see anything in the photo, because your camera focused specifically on the water droplets.
Did you use a flash? That usually makes things harder to pick out.

Yeah, without the flash the focus seems kinda shitty. My phone sucks lol.
